A pleasant stay. Quite ridiculous though that your room only got free water on the first night!

We had a great stay at Devonvale. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. My boyfriend enjoyed playing golf at the Estate. I was able to enjoy spa treatments in the room (they do not have a spa on site anymore) as well as an on site gym. The wine estate is not open anymore but they have a great restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed our stay but we surprised that there wasn't a spa or winery anymore. But I would say the staff and comfortable rooms made up for this!

Really beautiful hotel! The staff is friendly and the entire property was gorgeous. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Second stay at Devonvale. Lovely hotel on a Golf Estate & Wine Farm near Stellenbosch. Stayed in an upgraded room which was spacious and came fully equipped with small kitchenette. Lovely grounds with stunning pool, close to many fantastic wine farms and 30 minutes outside Cape Town center. Rooms were air-conditioned, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic too. Only the included WiFi could be improved. Fine for general browsing, but Netflix was blocked and so were VPN connections which made it impossible to connect to my work network. Room tip: ask for a non-joining room on the upper floor.

The hotel is very nice, set just outside Stellenbosch. We had a 2 bedroom apartment (not garden flat only balcony) and the bedrooms were very small but the living room was nice. The kitchenette was small but well stocked. The pool was a disappointment - it was very dirty (of bugs) when we arrived - dirtier than I have ever seen a pool to be. The next day it was a bit better but still not clean. A shame really as it was a nice space. Not quite enough loungers by the pool either. Spa was very nice (had a great massage) and breakfast was nice too. Overall a pleasant stay.

Our stay at Devondale was a good choice. Wish we’d brought our clubs. Good atmosphere, helpful staff, pleasant restaurant. Breakfasts were superb!

I cannot fault my stay at Devonvale and I would highly recommend this hotel. All the staff are very attentive, especially the restaurant staff. Breakfasts were one of the highlights of mine and my husbands day. The range of food available was excellent and the quality was first class.

Apartment room in large hotel. Generally good but a bit faded (worn soft furnishings, stained carpets) but bathrooms and linens very clean. Kitchenette tiny but well equipped. Limited general facilities other than the golf course. The swimming pool was small and pea green for the duration of our 5 day stay. Seemed to be a filtration problem rather than a result of the drought. Target audience probably groups of golfers who would have a happier experience.

Restaurant Staff were very good. They showed good hospitality. However, the condition of pool and other activities to do were not too great. Room size were small, which didnt turn out to be comfortable. Also, we asked the staff member to check us out an hour late if possible, they agreed on first place as there were not to many guests, but due to mis communication me and my husband faced inconvenience. Also, we asked for the hotel bill via email and yet its not received.

A very modern venue with excellent facilities and very comfortable. Close to Stellenbosch and the wine lands but a car is needed as nothing is within walking distance. Excellent pool and small gym. The breakfast was superb but dinner menu a bit limited. Outstanding location for golfers.

Stellenbosch is a a wonderful place to visit. Very relaxing, although a taxi into town is relatively expensive.

Positives: Good location in the heart of wine country. A very clean room. A nice breakfast buffet included in the fees, free parking Negatives: WIFI in the room is too weak to use, a small-ish sized room

It was only one night stay and the place is beautiful. Room is not very big, but very nice with classic style. We had a very nice dinner in the restaurant with local winery wine and cheese. In the morning the weather was good and we ate breakfast outside on the porch looking on people playing golf and listening to birds. So quite and peaceful.

5* accomdation and really good food. I would recommend Devonvale to anyone looking for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings.

The stuff in the restaurant was not service oriented.

This is a lovely hotel on a gorgeous golf and wine estate in proximity of Stellenbosch. We stayed for 2 nights in a beautiful and clean 2 bedroom / 2 baths luxury apartment and had a really wonderful visit - great for a family stay.

Golf course in good condition, despite the drought and all the staff were particularly good.
