Bedroom was acceptable but property lacking care and attention - surrounding garden area was overgrown with weeds. Breakfast was dreadfull and well overpriced! Manager attitude was far from hospitable. Don’t recommend at any price!

We had a one night stay and found the room clean and reasonably comfortable. One downside is that the parking for the hotel is a little away from the building. Dinner in the restaurant was good. We found the owner was not very welcoming

Lovely hotel close to abbey. Staff were very friendly and the accommodation comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was superb - all locally sourced, beautifully cooked. Both nights I stayed there, it was fairly full with plenty of local residents- sue sign of a good place! Thank you for a good stay.

Very friendly service and breakfast

Very convenient location close to the Abbey in Brantome. Also very nice to have a pool and courtyard for relaxing. The rooms were a little dated and didn't have aircon so worth considering in the summer months.

This was just an overnight stop on our way through France. The hostellerie is charming g although a little dated in parts. The room was clean and mainly comfortable although more pillows would have made a more comfortable nights sleep. We particularly liked the openable window which boasted an electric shade. The added bonus was the swimming pool which we really made use of in the hot sun. Although there was enough breakfast served we would have preferred a buffet where we could have chosen the foods we really liked. We would stop here again.

Excellent location, charming hosts, very attractive hotel/auberge. Elderly parents had accessible room on ground floor with their own terrace. Room very comfortable and excellent bathroom - large wet room with massive shower. My room overlooked pool and large terrace. Loved my Juliette balcony with large shuttered windows. Continental breakfast excellent - cereals, fresh fruit and walnuts, yoghurt, fruit juice, toast, croissants, pain au chocolate, madelaine cakes, jams, honey, chocolate spread, coffee/tea. All very generous helpings. Very reasonable rates, free parking in secured, gated private car park at back of hotel after unloading luggage in the courtyard.

A wonderfully spacious accessible room near the pool. Excellent food and very pleasant friendly hosts. Perfectly located just at one of the bridge entrances to the island old town.

So great that the owners had so much local knowledge, having grown up in the area. Hotel was good value, and the food was excellent. Will definitely go back.

The hotel was in a good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the evening we were there but we were recommended another one which was good. We parked right outside the hotel. My only complaint would be was that the bed wasn’t the most comfortable.

Beautiful town ... hotel in excellent location ... 5 min walk from bus stop... close to the abbey that dominates the town and near to lovely riverside walks. Friendly staff / owners - very helpful. We did not eat in the hotel (simply chose to wander out in the evening) ... room pleasant (though bath a tad small!) and clean - good value for money.

Really lovely hotel in a beautiful little town.

Hotel is within easy walking distance of the abbey and the town centre shops and restaurants. It is very efficiently run by a friendly couple who also run the very good restaurant in the hotel. The room we had, with twin beds, was clean and functional rather than luxurious but was fine for us. The bathroom was a little on the small side, a large person might find getting into the shower a bit awkward, but they have stuck to the fine French tradition of having a separate toilet. Cannot fault the hotel overall, we had a thoroughly pleasant stay.

This hotel is perfectly acceptable. You are in Brantome to experience the city and and the surrounding area, not get the full spa experience. The staff was very helpful and helped us non-french speakers out with all of our questions. It was a great jumping off point for the rest of our city touring.

The room was spacious, well furnished, clean and comfortable, with an excellent shower room and separate w.c. The evening meal was excellent, we ate a la carte and had great steaks and fantastic souffle deserts. Great position and with free off road parking. Only improvement would be to automatically give the wifi code on arrival. Hope to go back sometime, especially as Brantome is a beautiful historic village in a lovely setting.

The hotel was almost completely empty of travelers, but the staff was pleasant and helpful.
