Didn’t try the breakfast there because I want to try local pastries. The air conditioning is good. Room clean. Staff good. Location is good.

I just stayed one night at Hotel Orquidea tobe in the center of Funchal after a week's walking holiday. The hotel is basic looking but in a great location and with a balcony. Breakfast was also nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. For the money I paid I thought it was really good value.

Room was decent, property needs a few renovation and fix ups. Location was good for amenities and transport.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. There was a nice breakfast. The hotel is in a quiet area but we were able to walk to the attractions and the bus that we wanted.

Just missed a small fridge in the room and after the shower there was water on the floor because the shape of the bath. The floor makes noise when you walk around. It’s not a complaint. I would go back without problem. Thanks!

Nice but very dated and needs updating

Room was clean and aircon was great, soap was industrial so I used my own.

Great location, clean

For the location and price, this hotel was great. It is a budget hotel, I had to side step to fit into the bathroom (I’m 5’ 4” pretty small- can’t imagine someone bigger than me) and the AC didn’t work well. I ended up keeping my window open at night (I went in September). But the breakfast was great and the views from the restaurant & rooftop were stunning.

Very basic room. Poor shower size.

The staff was very helpful. There's a 24 hour paid parking lot right behind the hotel if you need parking (we used this - 5 EUR/day) The location is quite central and walking distance to the city center (~15 - 20 mins)

Room was tiny. Bathroom even smaller. An average size person would not be able to move in the bathroom facility. I am a small woman and it was difficult using the toilet and shower. Although I could not hear voices in the surrounding two rooms, I heard every flush of the toilets and the sound of the toilets and the showers being used. I have stayed in this facility three times in the past and have never had this issue. I was placed at the end of a hallway with two rooms on either side of which I could hear all the water sounds. On the plus side air conditioning did work.

Hello Was very noisy over the night… the rest very well… for 3*** it’s very good, good location and also it will be nice to have a la Cart menu, then the buffet.

Rooms were clean. Staff very friendly. My only complain are the mattresses. They were a bit too hard. Other than than, it was a great stay. They offer breakfast which was amazing. The view from the roof top was beautiful.

Good food, great views from the rooftop restaurant and near the centre of Funchal so a great base from which to travel around. Not five stars as the hot water in the shower went from cold to hot very quickly. Other than that, cannot fault it.

We spent one night at Hotel Orquidea. The space was clean and well-appointed. The staff was pleasant and were able to offer an excellent dinner recommendation. Easily walkable to several of Funchal’s attractions.
