Best Western Thurrock Hotel is a good hotel if you need a place to stay and relatively cheap. It’s in a good location for Lakeside shopping centre, the M25 and the dartford bridge. The entrance to the hotel itself needs refreshing as the road is damaged with slight potholes so if visiting make sure to go slowly. Once on the grounds of the hotel there was good amount of parking and wheelchair friendly walkway to get into the hotel with a ramp. The reception on arrival is lovely and very welcoming, the hotel itself is very large and has a lot of bedrooms and suites as they host weddings. Short walk upstairs to the rooms, no lift so be aware when booking if you cannot do stairs. The rooms themselves need a really good renovation, they are very outdated, but a good large size. The first room (121) we checked into was horrible. The pipes for the taps were very loud and the smell from the drains were potent. We spoke to reception and they moved us with ease and they were fantastic about that, finding another room quickly and letting us view it first before choosing due to the past room being bad. The second room we checked into was great, minus the outdated carpet and VERY squeaky floorboards which definitely need to be looked at. The bathroom at a good size and renovated well with no bad smells or stains. The bed was comfy and it was a lovely night to sleep. Would stay again but this hotel definitely needs upgrading :)

Heater in larger rooms better and cleaner rooms. Better things in room upon arrival like porter service especially with the stairs

Hotel was very old and very Very cold. It had a very smell damp feel to the place. It’s in desperate need of moderation. The event there was good but hotel needs modernisation

Breakfast had been sat awhile.

Did not have breakfast with package as on a cruise that morning. Staff friendly and professional room clean and comfortable 👌 only negative was traffic noise throughout the night thus did not sleep well but for the price excellent value for money

Comfy beds

Staff were friendly, hotel was clean. Road noise could be a problem but I alway take earplugs to hotels. Bed was hard but ok to sleep on. Small problem was my husband is 6’4 and the sloping ceilings in the room and in the shower were too low for him to stand under. Receptionist should have had more thought when placing us in a room.

Lovely room nice and clean

The staff are fantastic .. Paige on the front desk was just amazing. The hotel was very short staffed due to illnesses, so Paige had many hats! The hotel itself is clean, however it really does need to be decorated! There is a horrible smell of damp in the hallways and rooms! We had to move rooms due to a broken toilet!

Nice english breakfast, reception good when check inn but i called 15 times from room but never they answer phone .the day i was living i told them i will sleep until 1pm instead checking out jntil 11 , and whwn i am leaving i pay her the 15 pounds they ask extra because i wanted to sleep so badly after breakfast . But they said i got to go down immediately and pay . It was like i was going to cheat them and not pay later . I was dissappinted so i left 11 . Disappointed

Greeted at reception with a sigh by a guy with jeans and tee shirt wearing ear pods who didn’t come over as interested or professional. Hotel is more of a contractors hotel , dates and shabby , poor quality food
