Location is excellent, short walk from the New Street Station and near many bars and restaurants. Also a lovely 10 minute walk from the Utilita arena along the canals past more bars and restaurants. Room was nice and breakfast was good. Great views from the restaurant. Had bottles of water in the room and tea/coffee making facilities. Along with iron and hairdryer. Would definitely return again if going to the Utilita.

Room was spacious but the AC wasn’t working which was fine as they provided a fan. But we were offered a free drink. The fridge didn’t work which could be an issue for people who need it for health reasons but they had someone to fix it straight away, sadly it wasn’t fixable. The bar was great and plenty of seating. Breakfast was massive and really tasty but the coffee was like warm. Had a nicer one back in the room.

So we turned up to be told that the air conditioning had been Brocken for at least two weeks and our room was like a sauna. We were taken to our room as we would be prepared to stay but it really was so hot that we couldn’t breathe . Why weren’t we told of this before hand ? The girl on reception was very helpful and advised us and helped find an alternative accommodation and sent an email to hotels.com explaining the situation. None of this was our fault. Finally somebody from hotels. Com phoned us at 10pm but by then we were in the utilita arena at a concert so couldn’t possibly hear . We were then called back at 2.30am can you imagine what went through our heads at that time of night especially with frail elderly parents . WE managed to phone you back at 9.30am and got cut off before we could speak to anyone . This is very concerning and in my opinion very unprofessional. We have also been left out of pocket for something that was completely out of our control and could have easily been sorted out before hand …..,,,,

First time staying at the Cube Hotel, and the location is fabulous. The room was spacious and bright, with a great view from the 24th floor. The room was well-appointed, with everything you'd need (safe, ironing board, mini fridge, bottled water and cookies). The air conditioning didn't seem to work, and there was a column heater in the room to compensate. The standard of the bedding didn't match the rest of the room, which was disappointing - a saggy mattress and nothing but overstuffed firm pillows. It was OK, but I had expected better. Several issues in the bathroom, which I reported to reception on check out - a constant drip from the shower, a leak under the basin, and the drain in the shower was almost fully blocked, which meant I had to turn the shower on and off to make sure it didn't flood the bathroom. The restaurant on the 25th floor (Marco Pierre White) was fabulous, and the cooked-to-order breakfast was a standout. Despite a few niggles, I would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was a little disapointing. The Cadbury waffles - the waffles was microwaved and chewy. The rooms - the aircon was broken and no prior notice of rhis before stay with the opportunity to switch hotels. This was very uncomfortable. It wasnt mentioned at check in either. We had to ask for an extra fan for the room, which broke, with a replacement requested from reception each time. This was 3 or 4 teips down to reception on floor 7 feom floor 24 each visit. It felt like we were in the lift or waiting for it more than actually in the room. The shower was also broken. The overhead rainfall shower head had so little watwr presure it bearly even wet your hair. The hand held shower head at waist height more water came out of the handle than the shower head also making it hard to get clean. The staff were helpful and attentive, but no consession offered for the inconveniences.

Reception area very tired. No one on reception to greet guests, they stay in a back room and come out when they hear you. No mention of breakfast or the restaurant. Not a great first impression. Room very spacious and views were great. Room itself is a bit worn and could definitely do with a makeover.

The check-in was quick and easy. The room was lovely and big and had a lovely view looking out over Birmingham. The extras ordered were loved by my wife as they were a surprise for her. The bathroom had a bit of damage but it did not matter ie damage to bottom of bathroom door, a tiny bit of paint peeling off the wall. The room was very clean. Shower temperature could have been hotter than it was.

Room was booked for 27/28 March. Got a called on the 24th to say the room was unavailable and they were cancelling my room. All alternative hotel prices weee now up 50%. Had to cancel 1 days stay in birmingham and footed a train alteration fee. Will NEVER book at the cube again!

So conflicted absolutely brilliant location/views but definitely not a luxury hotel Booked a 1 night stay and saw reviews about the air con being broken figured it would be fixed by the time I got there a month or so later. I was wrong On check in the friendly receptionist let me know the air con wasn't working & I could have a fan if needed. Having stayed in some incredibly hot and not air conditioned hotels in the past I figured how bad could it be. It was bad The room was baking. The huge windows that give the amazing views also act as massive radiators and the heat in the room was stifling. The sun obviously hits the windows all day although when I arrived around 4pm the sun had moved off the glass. To the credit of the receptionist my request for a quiet room had been met and I was in a small corridor with only one other room I was able to wedge the door open to let some of the heat out. There were 2 fans, one was broken (plug snapped) when I asked for a replacement I was told they would see what they could do, but saw no replacement nor did I get a call to say they didn't have a spare The room was tired, carpet stained, walls & bathroom dirty Luckily I was visiting for a gig so the room had cooled a bit by the time I got back I slept well & the room was quiet. Check in/check out were easy & the staff I met were friendly Overall I was disappointed. I could have booked elsewhere for less but wanted to treat myself for a special occasion. I won't be back
