A great heritage place to stay for a few days of exploring Alleppy, beaches and the backwaters, located across a local road by the massive beach. Hotel is a lovely well maintained old traditional building with a swimming pool and restaurant. Paid a bit more for a large traditional room with a large shared lounge and outside seating area next to the pool. Great restaurant and chef with a good menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner also serving alcohol. Guys in the restaurant very helpful and made us feel welcome - a big thankyou to Lee and his colleagues for looking after us so well. Google maps does not realise that highway 66 is on two elevated sections of flyover, so you cannot access the property from the flyover by the beach - you have to navigate through the adjoining Cullen or Palace roads to the beach and hotel under the flyovers.

Great property - lovely rooms and the property was beautiful. Great location next to the beach, but the moment you step off the property it is a bit scruffy. The room we had was nice, good food offerings and beer - all at a good price. Pool area was ok.

The property is right in front of the beach.. however the beach is unusable because of the black dirt all over the sand and water. Property is heritage and classic however don’t think it justifies the price. Saw a few lizards in the room and hot water is not available all the time. Staff is friendly, the pool is kept clean and the food is ok.

For short stay it was good enough. But being road front, sleep was bit disturbed due to vehicle noises. Toilet family in rooms are good but water pressure too low and need to wait for long to reuse the WC. Otherwise the swimming pool Andrej service personals are very good.

A delightful Hotel in the most terrible location....what a shame,an elevated road directly over it and a second one in front under construction.

More fluff than stuff for the price! Horrendous “complementary” breakfast. Chef needs at the best some serious training in cooking. Restaurant attendants were not trained nor clean! Bottom line, never will stay there again!

Amazing heritage hotel, friendly staff and good restaurant. The only thing that disappointed us was the Ayurveda Treatment was not working because of COVID. Our room was silent but there was problems in the sink that could be not solved.

I was a little sceptical at first. Room was amazing. Old, old and even older. Staff were lovely. Lovely restaurant and great breakfast. By the beach🌝 local to most things. Beer available at all times + finest gin and tonics. They’ve built an elevated highway right in front of the hotel- but it doesn’t actually spoil the view of the beach. Breakfast was superb. Great stay, thank you

Lovely compound with great spaces for lounging and enjoying the weather. Period furniture is very charming, more comfortable than they may look. When I checked out I mentioned I was going to the bus terminal and was offered a lift by one of the staff members headed the same way, which was a nice touch. Only complaint is the mosquitoes in the room at night, even with the a/c running. I woke up in the morning covered in bites.

Nice old hotel right on a huge beach. Surrounding area still a bit of a building site as a massive ugly flyover has just been finished, slap bang above it. Rooms relatively comfortable and beds clean. Staff friendly and helpful and restaurant food very good. Small but perfect pool. It just all seems a bit tired.

The roadworks outside were an unfortunate surprise. The beach needs cleaning up (a lot) and the local men seem to use it as a toilet which is disgusting. The hotel had some nice features and good staff, but they need to buy some new loungers and parasols etc.

The hotel is an amazing gem. Heritage property and like going back a century to a quieter time. Yet the food was great and the stay itself too. But the hotel is a street away from the beach. And the government seems to be slowly building a bridge or highway. So those sounds are not ideal nor is the heavy machinery and blocked roads at times.

We stayed in this wonderful hotel for just over one week. This is a heritage hotel based in a gorgeous building with the old features as well as modern amenities such as restaurant and swimming pool. Position of the hotel is excellent as it is near the beach as well as close enough to visit Allepey town and backwaters. During our stay over Christmas and New Year period, we had a privilege to visit many local temples where there was a festival taking place with lively processions, elephants parades, prayers, dances and other artistic performances. Unfortunately, something dreadful is happening as the bypass road is being built just in front of the hotel that is causing huge disruption to the area as well as lots of noise. This is a real problem currently for many people who chose to stay in the hotel, which is otherwise a real gem.

Our experience at the 19th century colonial boutique hotel was not good. The house was not well maintained, and the rooms were not in good condition and didn't give the feeling of any star rated boutique hotel. The only consolation during the stay was food and that was good. Hope some updates will be done
