Great stay! Friendly stay, Fun water slide and a good breakfast.

Breakfast not good - have previously stayed and it was great, last two stays have been mediocre at best. Damage in the rooms including lamps that didn’t work, missing microwave, mould in shower. Staff very unhelpful on last two stays - once had a credit card charge that they claimed was not them so I cancelled my card only to have the hotel reverse it after all (so it WAS them). This time my address was wrong on my receipt and they told me they can’t fix it, which is a challenge for getting my work expenses paid

We stayed at this same hotel a few days earlier before taking the ferry to Newfoundland. We chose to stay again on the return trip due to its' convenient location near the ferry terminal. The room was slightly different and included a small counter with a sink, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. The room was spacious, with two queen beds and the bathroom was a good size, with a tub/shower combo and lots of towels and face cloths. Once again, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the staff were excellent. The only reason we didn't give a 5 star rating for cleanliness was the condition of the carpet. It may have been clean but it was hard to tell as it really is due for replacement. Otherwise, the rest of our room was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location.

Never slept on such squeaky beds before. Box springs were cheap and made with a cardboard top.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The location is not bad considering it is in Sydney. Only issue is that there is not enough food for everyone during the free breakfast. I would see the sausage is being refilled, but by the time I got to the station it was all empty.

Overall a great hotel. I would stay there again. Two comments, I found the pool area and waters ide was not as clean as I would have liked. The other is the breakfast - the food quality and selection was great, but I was disappointed to see that all the serving ware and cutlery is disposable, single use plastic. I would like o see the hotel chain do better from a sustainability perspective.

First time stayed on first floor. Bugs in bathroom, no hair conditioner in bottle, carpet was dirty, only one chair and that was broken. The breakfast wasn’t that good. Hotel has gone downhill.

The breakfast was great! Lobby and decor were aesthetic. Clean rooms too.

Great room and bathroom - very helpful staff. One concern: water on the floor by elevators from folks who had been in the pool and dripped water in the halls - I slipped and almost went down.

Needs an update. Room was run down - holes in wall and carpet. Bed seemed to be broken. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was ok and nice not to have to leave hotel to find breakfast.

We stayed one night on June 18th, 2026 and were quite happy with the hotel overall. The two receptionists were very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious with two queen beds; the bathroom was clean but the shower head was very difficult to adjust and we ended up with water on the floor (we cleaned it up!). The carpet, unfortunately, was not in good shape and had stains and ripples in it. Probably time to replace it. The breakfast was very good with bacon, omelettes, waffle maker, oatmeal cereal, pastries, yogurt, etc. We were taking the ferry to Newfoundland in the morning, so the location was ideal. We would definitely recommend Hampton Inn Sydney and would stay there again if we return to the area,

Hotel was not as enjoyable as previous stays. Pillows in king room need to be replaced- old, flat and no shape. Room smelled like cigarette smoke daily even though it was a non smoking room. Housekeeping for first 2 days was n it great, rushed. 3rd morning was a different staff member and she did a much better job and it was visible with attention to detail When checking out, we were not even asked how our stay of 4 nights was like previous times. Breakfast staff were friendly and always busy. (Elvira is amazing and personable)

Nous avons réellement apprécié le fait que le responsable nous permette d'obtenir une chambre avec un divan alors que nous n'avions pas fait notre réservation dans ce sens à la base, d'autant plus qu'il n'a exigé aucun frais pour cet ajout. Nous avons tout aimé de cet hébergement sinon que le tapis de notre chambre qui était usé, avec des accros et surtout, un nombre de taches incroyables, dont une de "vin rouge" (c'est notre supposition) à la droite du lit. C'était à la limite du tolérable. Cependant, comme la chambre est spacieuse, la salle de bain y comprise et bien pensée, le divan relativement confortable et l'air climatisé efficace, nous considérons revenir dans cet établissement lors d'un prochain passage. Les aires communes sont très propres également. Au déjeuner, il a manqué de certains items, mais il faut dire qu'il y avait beaucoup de gens en ce congé férié.
