Desire RM Pearl is our go to resort to celebrate a birthday or anniversary and create memories! The property is very well kept, the food is always great, but the staff is what makes the difference. The rooms are not ultra luxury and that's ok because you spend very little time in your room. With so much relaxing on a daybed, hanging out by the pool, having fun with your partner, or enjoying a playroom, you appreciate how well the property is maintained. Shout out to GABI the pool server, Monica the pool server, Miguel and Victor the daybed and towel attendants, Javier, Luis, Jorge and many more great bartenders, Belén, Manuel, and many more great food servers, and the great play makers that keep things fun and exciting all day. I also want to mention the management staff. Daniel was regularly walking the property to ensure that it was in top presentation shape. He also did check ins with guests to ensure guests are happy and that all was working good for them. Hannai the e-concierge is also doing a great job with providing services available for Expedia guest benefits. We are making friends for life on these vacations, continuing to strengthen our relationship, and exploring new experiences with wonderful people...just amazing. The only suggestion would be to match some of the music during the shows to the theme night. For example, on Fetish night, erotically charged music with lots of sensuality would be 100 times better than Rock pop and sock hop music.

Love how friendly the staff and all the other guests are. Facility is nice and activities are fun. Seaweed prevented use of beach and was stinky at times but resort can’t help that. We met some great people and will be going back for sure!

This was our second time at the resort. Each time, we got an ocean view room. We could also see the pool from our room . The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The staff goes out of their way to ensure everyone has a great time. The theme nights add some fun, too! The restaurants are great. I wish there was a snack option between 4:00 and dinner.

We just returned from our first stay at Desire Pearl. What was excellent: Staff - friendly, professional, hardworking, and always on point Dining - all three restaurants are very good; fresh and tasty offerings Spa - beautiful, with a variety of services. Couples massages highly recommended! Pool - the daytime spot to be, either on the party side or the quiet side. Swim-up bar is lovely. Jacuzzi - the evening/night gathering spot; also has a swim-up bar Entertainment - daytime activities, nightly themed parties and shows. Playmaker staff does an excellent job running events and getting guests involved What wasn't great: A/C - no central air in the common areas, so the club, restaurants, lobby, etc were all uncomfortably hot. We left the evening party/nightclub early every night, though the events were great. It was just too hot. I understand that the temperature is much more tolerable in the high season, but room rates are also more expensive. Beach - Seaweed currently (as of June 2025) prevents getting into the ocean. You can walk further down the beach, away from the property, to useable beach areas. A note about the vibe: Most guests are aged 40+ and many are premier members who stay frequently and already know the other regular guests. Everyone is friendly and nice, but there are cliques that can be tough to infiltrate. I would call this resort laid back compared to others of its kind. Most wild activity takes place between midnight and dawn.

Too much sargassum. Beach is not usable. Smell is bad. Food is average at best.

Everything was great except for the sargassum. Puerto Morelos is able to keep it clean and at Desire there is no real attempt. The smell was horrible, taking away from an otherwise perfect beach vacation.

Our most favorite place to go. Hands down best staff and always meet the nicest couples. Wouldn’t go anywhere else

Service and foo top-notch

traveled for wifes birthday and the staff went above and beyond for her special day. First would like to thank Gaby for her always attentive pool service. She knew it was wifes birthday the next day and she was working aphrpodites in that time and when we showed up she had a special table and menu for her. Daniel the guest services manager also gave us a vip poolbed for the day and a special dinner. Lots of others I want to mention that also went above and beyond in their service. Vincent (bellman), Servando (pool waiter), Sebastian (waiter), Ceci (manager), Esmeralda (hostess), Alejandra (playmaker), Monica (pool waitress), and bartenders Luis (batman), Jorge and Saul (pool bar), Christopher (chef), Victor and Horatio (pool beds)

The food, the service, the weather, everything was perfect. I will definitely go back.

I have been in Tentation hotel but this was an unique experience. We do not practice the free life or being swingers but we enjoyed the stay in Desire Pearl. People were friendly and they respect us. We made friends and met people from other countries and usa states. Vincent the Bell Boy super attentive.. Victor in the pool was super nice with accommodations. The playmaker team Felix, Edward and the Venezuelan girl gave the extra mile . We really had a good time .

Staff, food and rooms were very good. The grounds were well kept and was overall a beautiful layout. Couple tips: they right off the bat are going to want to pitch a “members” program to you, go ahead and kill and hour listening and enjoying a good drink and then politely decline. There are no real benefits to the membership and it’s insanely expensive but you get a voucher for a couple hundred dollars to use so it’s worth it for that. The shows are fairly good for a smaller venue but get a bit repetitive, after the 3rd night we just skipped it and enjoyed the jacuzzi while it was still quiet and relaxing because after the show then it fills up with a bunch of drunk people. It’s couples only so the creep factor is low so that’s a positive. Overall it’s a nice place to go and spend a few days, if you’re looking for a party atmosphere then you might be disappointed though it was much livelier than we like but it definitely wasn’t a calm relaxed place either. From people we talked to you either love it or hate it, personally I’m in the middle. I’ll definitely go again but wouldn’t be hurt if it wasn’t for a couple years. So if you’re looking for a place to lay out in the sun next to a beautiful pool and have some well made drinks and eat some good food definitely visit. If you’re looking for all that on a budget then you might want to look elsewhere. I give it a 7 out of 10.
