The first room was unacceptable, second room was better. Bed was extremely comfortable. Some renovations and maintenance required Location excellent if you prefer to be at heart of Gran Via, all shops restaurants bars 100m away down side street, so quieter than directly on Gran Via. 200m to Gran Via Subway. Little bit pricey for condition of rooms

I enjoyed my stay at La Fontana very much. The room was spotless, small but very functional. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location of the Hostal is incredible, within walking distance to many places you'd like to visit in Madrid and with excellent connections to the airport.

Mi experiencia en el Hostal La Fontana fue excelente. Desde la recepción pude notar lo limpio, organizado y bien cuidado que estaba todo; incluso el área común olía muy fresco. La habitación también olía muy limpia: las sábanas, la almohada y toda la ropa de cama estaban impecables. La ubicación del hostal es perfecta. Está en un punto ideal dentro de Madrid, lo que nos permitió llegar caminando a muchísimos lugares sin problema. Además, tanto la recepcionista como el recepcionista fueron muy amables y atentos durante toda la estancia. En resumen, una experiencia excelente. Definitivamente lo recomendaría y volvería a quedarme aquí.

Hostal La Fontana doe not have clear and bold signage on the street. I was pleasantly surprised to be given a room with a bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. Could I recommend that rooms be supplied with a secure safe to place one’s valuables and key documents?

Nice location to downtown, but extremely noisy all night and hard to fall asleep.

The hotel location is great. Comfort for a budget is good. The receptionist is very helpful. Initially due to language you might have a different opinion. But she is a nice lady and helpful.

The room was as described, small, quiet, in a neighbourhood with a lot of people walking around. Coffee shops nearby.

Property was a cool old building that unfortunately was lacking some maintenance! Room was OK and it was clean but things needed repairs. Signage could be better at the door explaining where check in was located. The young lady who checked us in was very pleasant and kind! Cheers and Gracia! Mike and Ally 🇨🇦

The single room is very compact (I'd go as far as saying the photos are misleading), with windows facing the building's ventilation shaft. Although the bed is a bit uncomfortable, the room provides all necessary amenities, and the hostel is conveniently located. It offers good value for the cost.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s a great location. Not all the staff speaks English, but some do. They are nice, and were very helpful whenever I had questions. I really liked my stay in Madrid, and Hostal La Fontana helped me enjoy everything!

Amazing location close to the centre of Madrid and a really vibrant neighbourhood. Laundromat 4 doors away was a bonus

Great value for money. Walking distance to everything. Staff was pleasant. Bathroom could have been cleaner but overall a good place to stay for the price.
