Reception staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast staff very attentive. Pool good, liked adult only swim time. Great to see a hotel of such an impressive age still going strong

I had been looking forward to this stay but left disappointed. Whilst the hotel is well positioned for the town and beach the property requires some investment. It’s a lovely looking historic property with fine views from its public rooms, but the price of the rooms I feel is on the higher side, especially compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Falmouth. I would certainly recommend avoiding the Compact Double (read budget and in serious need of refurbishment) which we were unfortunate enough to have ended up with,. Despite the comfy bed and delicious breakfast it’s dreary atmosphere left me wanting to do nothing other than sleep in it!

Ive stayed here quite a few times and its an old lady, but they've recently started renovating and this stay I got upgraded to a newly renovated room. It was lovely. Nice and fresh and new, but still retaining that old school charm of a seaside hotel. Friendly staff and everything you'd need.

We had a wonderful stay at The Falmouth Hotel. The building is beautiful, with a grand historic interior, and the lounge overlooking the sea was one of our favourite places to relax. The location is excellent, directly across from Castle Beach, within walking distance of Gyllyngvase Beach, and only a short stroll into town. We also enjoyed the indoor pool, and it would be fantastic to see the former outdoor pool restored one day. Every meal we had—from breakfast to afternoon tea, sandwiches, and fish and chips—was excellent, and the staff were consistently professional and welcoming. Our room was clean, and the free on-site parking was a significant bonus, although it did fill up during busier periods. A couple of things are worth keeping in mind: the hotel hosts weddings/receptions, and the reception during our stay continued until around midnight, which affected our sleep. We also visited during warm weather, and because the hotel does not have air conditioning, our west-facing room became quite hot despite the fan provided. Even with those minor drawbacks, the atmosphere was lovely, and the hotel felt more like a seaside resort than simply a place to sleep. It was the best out of several hotels that we stayed at during our trip. We would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay and found the decor most comfortable and pleasing. One observation I would like to make is that it occurred to me the dinner menu lacked inspiration. By this I felt that it could have benefited from including perhaps more imagination ie foreign dishes. I am aware that the Falmouth prides itself on good fulsome British food and succeeds in this but I would have appreciated more alternative.

My wife and I came down for 2 nights. The hotel is a beautiful Victorian building with loads of original features. Very helpful staff and a big clean room. We would definitely stay again. Very good breakfast and facilities.

Double room with sea view sounds lovely doesn't it. Room was very dated, dirty, with a tiny window, and ridiculously hot. Too hot to sleep in. (and it wasn't one of the hotter days we've had recently, so good luck to anyone in that room when it is hot overnight) Ground Floor of hotel is wonderful and has retained charm, but reception is really scruffy and needs a major overhaul. Breakfast hot menu was good, although continental selection was limited. Amazing location, but disappointing room considering the price.

The traditional features - several lounge areas with space, comfortable seating and service, plus the modern approach to people needing to use laptops as well as have scrumptious cream teas made the Falmouth hotel excellent venue for the couple of days I stayed there. A longer stay would be comfortable, too. The bedroom was renovated with a delightful combination of charm, attention to power points, USB points etc., and wardrobe and drawer space. The location is good - close to the railway, shops and beach, and not too far to walk to Falmouth University. Most importantly, the staff were excellent- efficient and friendly.

I like the character and location of the property and the staff are doing the best that they can. The property is dated and in need of investment. The bedroom could have been a bit cleaner (hoovering the carpet which did not seem to happen during my stay) and the bedding did not fit the mattress. The staff were kind and helpful though some better manners from certain bar staff would have gone a long way. The food was great.

The current owners have made out of this world improvements to the Hotel, in the last couple of years every aspect from Parking, Staff, Decor and Food have improved. In my opinion only one thing let it down this visit, it was the Sea Shanty Festival (the reason for our visit) and the Bar Staff had been told that every drink must be served in a charity Plastic Pint Pot, not good if you only want a Gin & Tonic or a glass of White Wine.
