In the true Ritz-Carlton tradition, the R-C Kyoto upholds the highest standards of customer service and provides a 5 star facility. We asked for help from the concierge regarding a tour guide and what to see and he responded with great advice and helped us make a great connection.

I will rate this hotel as 4.5 stars rather than perfect 5 stars. The minor complaints are the breakfast and the location. The Japanese breakfast here is not as flavorful as the one I have in Tokyo (another 5 stars hotel). The location is far away from high end shopping malls and the surrounding area looks like a very average neighborhood.

Hidden gem

The Kyoto Ritz is a beautiful hotel. First class in every respect. Exactly what you would expect from a five star property.

Great location (shops and restaurants with 10-15min walk), great staff, and great hotel overall. The food was really good (sushi).

Understated but luxury feel. Our room was probably a little small for the price but the staff were excellent. The pool is worth it for the money alone.

The ritz Carlton Kyoto is incredible. It is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The service was impeccable. The raspberry croissants and macaroons were better than the ones we had in Paris. It is well located and the concierge is the absolute best. We cannot say enough great things about this hotel and it’s staff. We were truly sad when we had to leave.
