The hotel was beautiful, located right on the lake. Our room was really nice, but the bathroom ceiling was old and crumbling, and the blinds were broken. There was also smell of sewage during the night. We mentioned this to the receptionist and she changed our rooms by the third night and offered us a free dinner at the restaurant as a compensation. The second room was lovely. The pool could use a clean up. But overall the experience was lovely and we got engaged there so we have a special place for this hotel in our memory now:)

Amazing

Large, comfortable room, great view and quiet location. Dinner expensive, small portions and not great experience. My husband had tortellini which was lukewarm (reheated on request). I had Caesar salad, which was small, contained good amount of chicken, chunky croutons, minimal lettuce, regular cheese slices (not Parmesan) but nothing else.

I loved everything about the El Faro except the dinner menu which needs work to come up to the excellent standards of this lovely boutique hotel. Our room, the views, and the staff were all excellent.

The hotel is perfectly situated for amazing lake views. The staff is friendly, breakfast was very tasty, and the rooms are comfy and cozy. The reason it's not a 5-star review is (1) they failed to service our room one of the three days we were there and (2) there were some condition issues of the hotel grounds - the hot tub was questionable at best and the dock on the lake was dangerously weathered. Despite that, I would recommend.

The views were spectacular and the hotel was small and quiet. I would definitely stay here again if I was returning to the area.

Old hotentote but nice view

The view is amazing. One wonderful lady Ileene working reception, bar tender (minimal choices). Have to leave property for meals other than breakfast but can order and have delivered from other restaurants. Suggest having a car if staying there.

Beautiful location with amazing views from rooms and terraces. Pleasant rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast choice is perhaps a little limited, though quality is fine.

Fantastic location overlooking the lake and mountains, llovely interior and room, good breakfast, staff excellent. Awkward ( but very picturesque) access along steep very winding drive proved less problematic than we first thought, bearing in mind that the hotel had no restaurant, and was 3 km from the town. Minor fault - the fan in the jacuzzi didn’t work.

Beautiful properly next to the lake with large windows and simply amazing views to the lake and the mountains in the background. Large rooms. A quick drive to the Villa La Angostura town, even walkable as there's a pedestrian path next to the road. Simple but nice breakfast with amazing views.

Gorgeous setting. Outstanding views of lake and snow peaked mountains. The absence of a formal restaurant might disappoint some. Rooms get hot with afternoon sun.

Service was excellent. Especially Fernanda at the front desk, whose persistence paid off in tracking down my phone (lost in Vila Angoustura). Facilities are lovely, best of all is the quiet and beautiful lakeside location. Room was very nice, with a great view. Breakfast was great. Only slight flaw - cleanliness and attention to detail was sometimes a little lacking. The otherwise beautiful jacuzzi in our room was a bit dirty. And the pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Still overall I’d recommend it.

Amazing property in Amazing location. The service was impeccable. The view from our room was perfect. Would highly recommend this property if looking for a cozy boutique hotel with lake views.

We were treated very well at this amazing hotel perched above the lake.

We liked it so much we decided to stay an extra night. The lake view is amazing!
