Excellent, as described.

Such a lovely hotel and the balcony was an added luxury. The steps at the front were a little steep for my elderly mum but she loved everything else.

It's like going back in history to a fabulous bygone era, the hotel oozes charm. Had a great view from the room, looking out to sea. Good for the Ferry and Gun Wharf Quays. Wonderful breakfast in beautiful surroundings. I was very grateful for the prompt call from Reception, informing me I had left some items in the room, upon departure.

Did not like the layout of the room.

Lovely place

Great hotel in a perfect location! The new renovated rooms a beautiful. I had a single room which was more like a double, and the mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable.

I stayed here for one night and was very impressed with the decor in reception. The lift up to my floor was slow but when I got to my room, it was spacious, light and clean. I was very pleased and the bed was great

A grand Hotel a little past its glory days but comfortable with very friendly efficient staff. Good value and worth paying the extra for the stunning sea view.

I’ve walked past this hotel on many occasions without realising how nice it is inside. The staff were great, particularly Tilly on reception who was really helpful. I enjoyed a very pleasant meal and bottle of wine in the bar. Highly recommended if you’re in Portsmouth.

Repeat guest here. Love the hotel but the radiators are very noisy. Constant gurgling loudly in all rooms. Otherwise very happy with the hotel.

Although a Good location . Rooms are somewhat basic . Unfortunately our room was at the side of building , our window above a road junction , scaffolding and work being carried out on building across road. This hotel was recommended to us by a family member who stays in the area. Three members of our family came down from Scotland and booked into hotel. We were shocked when this hotel did not accept Scottish banknotes , in bar area . Staff were nice but they had to ask hotel manager if they were allowed to accept these who point blankly said NO. We did not drink or eat at this hotel after this incident , deciding we would rather spend our cash elsewhere. We found good resturants and bars closeby ( who all accepted Scottish notes ) Be aware if you are travelling from Scotland , this hotel does not accept our Scottish notes as sterling. I wont be returning , and my family member staying closeby to hotel certainly wont be recommending this hotel again.

Hotel room was very nice spacious only down side could not get any hot water in the evening
