Needing an inexpensive option for the last remaining days of my visit to Osaka I checked into Sakura. I walked in finding a lot of activity in the form of renovations going on and the propertier nowhere to be found. Not sure what to do, non of the workers spoke English, I still approached one of the workers and through a series of charades he got the owner on the phone and I was told he'd be there in twenty minutes. So I waited and when the owner did arrive, check in was relatively painless. I got my bunk bed, I lucked out with a quiet room on the third floor and the toilet right outside the room. However no shower and I never did figure out where those facilities were so I simply used a bathhouse near the area that provided me with everything I needed as I didn't have a towel robe or shampoo/soap which I gathered you had to provide your own as with everything else at Sakura. I think this is a great option for a young female traveller. I felt safe, I was able to leave my bags with no one tampering. Me personally I'd rather check into a pod facility with the included a fully serviced bathhouse (which unfortunately were all booked up in the area at the time). The best part of this experience was the location. You are right in the thick of all the shops, attractions and everything you can imagine within walking distance.
