Where do I start. We’ve been there at least 4 times over the last 5 years and each time there was obvious notes that things were being worked on to improve the building. But nothing has changed. Let’s start with the stay … says there’s breakfast… NONE! Then the check in … nobody around and you have to hunt for them. How about the restaurant says open 7 days a week. But wait they’re closed when we want to order. How about ice cream… nope that is hidden behind a locked door. Oh how about some tissue … nope none available so how about some napkins from the restaurant that’s closed. Wait how about a face cloth for the sink … nope let’s give you extra hand towels. Don’t run out of toilet tissue… try to find someone to give you another roll. Good luck with that nobody at the desk and now the trick is to find someone that actually works there. Yeah I said we had stayed there multiple times. But now do you really think I’ll be back .. think again.

There was no morning coffee or tea available although the website clearly stated coffee and tea were available in the lobby. There was a reastaurant on the property so no coffee or tea was unusual. There was no equipment in the room for making any hot drinks: no cups, no coffeemaker. The shower was dirty with black mold growing. No one was ever at the front desk. When I checked in I had to find my way back into the restaurant kitchen to talk to anyone. It was quite noisy at night, with loud TV noise until 1:30am. There was a strong weed smell in the hallway the first night. There was a TV on the wall in my room but it was not connected to cable or Internet. It effectively did not work. I would not recommend this hotel.

The room was smaller than we anticipated; I suspect this had been a dormitory at some point. Nevertheless, they maximized the use of the space there was.

Impossible to justify this flop house as a motel!!! Staff need hotelier training. The owner is turning rooms into monthly cheap rents for "locals". There is no breakfast provided which is strange considering there is a dining room - and the "owners" run a fish and chip restaurant at this location. It was a lovely old quaint hotel close to a beach. At least it used to be clean. Bedding was well used and not spotless - no mattress cover in one case. It's finished as a motel.

If you want to be close to the beach, this place is ideal. Not much else. The staff are friendly.

Windspire Inn was a great location. Only blocks from the beach. Our suite had a bedroom with queen bed, closet and TV. We were on the main floor with a door exiting to the parking lot. The seperate Kitxhen had a fridge, stove, dishwasher and kitchen table with 2 chairs. The kitchen was fully stocked woth cooking utensils and small appliances. We would definitely stay at th8s Inn again in the future.

Enjoyed our stay

This is an older property with a Lot of potential. The rooms were clean, my bed was comfy and because it was not a hot night the rooms were cool because it has no air conditioning. But my room was only $125.00 a night so a good deal if just passing through. However, you do not get the shampoos etc that you find in higher end hotels either. Not a problem. But can I get a drinking glass of any type in my room? Hydration and oral hygiene is not negotiable! My biggest issue however was this. I am a serious cyclist, both speed and endurance (distance). I contacted them when I reserved telling them that I travelled with a high end bike and asked if I could get secure storage for the bike or I would find someplace else. I realize not everyone place can accommodate this. They assured me I could take the bike to the room. Well the room turned out to be on the second floor with a winding narrow staircase. Impossible. I was forced to leave the bike chained to an outdoor railing. Not happy!! Though nothing came of this, I was left feeling of betrayed over my request. Based on the lack of hydration options and that my only request was really not honoured. I would not stay here again.

Excellent location, but the hotel is shabby and outdated. The front porch is now part of a restaurant and was not accessible. Very disappointing stay.

Was not a good stay. They were in the midst of renovations.

We were supposed to have a king bed but upon arrival told there was a problem with the king bedroom so we had 2 queens which we agreed. Little we know they were renovating the king bedroom which was directly over the 2 queen bed room. First of all there is a large screen TV in our room but there was no live TV, no sports, no news, no movies etc unless you subscribed to Prime, Sportsnet, Netflix etc so we went to bed at 1030 and the noise above us continued all night. I yelled at them at 2:00 and again at 4:00 and it continued. They were dropping tools and stomping around all night. I was going to ask for a refund from Hotels.ca. This was definitely the worst hotel.ca experience we ever had. I would not recommend this hotel. There were no black out drapes, and the ceilings seemed to be thin enough that when the tools hit the floor above we could not only hear it but we felt it. There was no front desk person to complain to and I believe the workers may have been the owner’s family.

This place is ridiculously overpriced. It should be $120 -150 a night . It has a lot of potential, but it seems the owners could not care less. I know one couple left soon after arrival. There are a number of cottages nearby to stay in which offer better value The restaurant below is in fact very good and even has live entertainment
