It was convenient location. Served our purpose. The property needs much “uplifting”.

The staff were terrific - welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and convenient. They were very communicative ahead of time, too.

Firstly on arrival staff were friendly so no complaints there. That’s where it ends. Room itself was ok. However aircon was exceptionally noisy so couldn’t sleep with it despite it being a warm night. Sadly the wifi kept going on and off and it took me a long time to get urgent work done. When I went downstairs to look for someone to help there was no one at the reception. Next morning at breakfast I also had to look for someone to order eggs. Rest of food was ready. It seems it’s a hit and miss as other people were offered breakfast on arrival where others were not attended to. Walls in room also very thin or not properly insulated with the result that one can hear the neighbours noises quite easily compared to other places I’ve stayed at. Sorry I won’t be coming back for above legitimate reasons.

I think for an international traveller the "boutique hotel" and 5 star tourism grading is probably a misnomer. Room allocation is a bit of a lottery in terms of how restful your stay is, and if you are in one of the rooms along the main thoroughfare between the parking area and upper section accommodation/restaurant, you have departing guests at 4.30am moving their luggage over the cobblestone paving to check out. Rooms are on the small side and service is quite average so probably around a 3-star equivalent overall.

Staff very accommodating. We are early following a night flight & staff managed 2 get a room ready 4 us before normal check in time. Bit of misunderstanding with breakfast. Was advised available til 10 but on arrival at 915, lady said closes 9 during week & 10 weekend.

My overall experience was not good. The parking space is extremely limited, our room was too small, the bathroom had ants and no bath for 4 girls and the floors were dirty. We had no outside view - the view of the windows was directly into the walled fence. Definitely not 5 stars!

Great hotel close to Jo Burg airport. Does not have a full restaurant - only available for breakfast. There are a lot of stairs to haul up your suitcase, so not ideal if you are not able to lift your suitcase up and down the stairs. Has a lovely pool, we did not have time/weather to use it.

Staff are very friendly yet professional. Hot water in the shower took forever and had to call housekeeping for help. Wi-Fi signal was great and breakfast was awesome. Better go to breakfast early as some items runout. Overall, a lovely place.

We stayed at Lakeview for an overnight as we were flying out of OR Tambo early the next morning. Since we arrived late at night, our initial impression was that it was a bit tired. Probably not a "boutique" hotel but a small hotel/motel as the rooms open to the outside. The front desk was very quick to get us to our room as he knew we were tired. We had a family room and it was cozy and clean- perfect for what we needed. Although the interior was a bit dated, the beds and linens were as good as the top hotel chains (we loved it) and the shower was excellent and bathroom was large. Since we had an early departure, we didn't try their breakfast but the lounge looked nice. We would stay again for the beds alone.

We specifically requested a quiet upper floor room but were told the hotel was full and given a ground floor very close to the little pool, as most are, where a valentines party of 66 were celebrating. The safe in our room was inoperable and there was only tepid water. On contacting the manager we were told that guests had walked off with the safe key and that no one else had complained about the water. The room is claimed to be 41 square meters on their website which is simply not true. The massive bed occupies most of the room so only one person at a time can get past it. People walk past the room constantly and soundproofing is poor so you can hear conversation outside. At dinner we waited an hour and five minutes to be served and some cutlery arrived with the food as it was all being used by the party. On the plus side the reasonably priced food and wine at dinner was good as was breakfast, the aircon was efficient and quiet, the fridge and TV both worked well, the WiFi was good and the hot water returned in the morning. An upper floor room had been available but no answer forthcoming as to why we had not been given it. We enjoyed our stay as we felt like extras in an episode of Fawlty Towers but would not repeat the experience or recommend it to others.

This is a lovely place to stay near the airport. My only suggestion would be that the owners Not allow smoking in the courtyard area (around the pool). If people smoke there it negatively impacts the rooms. I suggest the entire property be non-smoking or at least limit it to the parking area.

Arrived late but to a very warm welcome & lovely room. Slept well after a nice hot shower & woke to enjoy a delicious & custom cooked breakfast overlooking the pool! The staff was very friendly & most accommodating. I would definitely stay here again in Joburg & highly recommend it!! A great start to our arrival in Africa! 👍👍👍👍👍
