I do not usually come to this hotel often however I decided to book an afternoon tea here, it was spectacular to say the least. The food was obviously excellent quality and beverages were fantastic. Staff here are very attentive and the best overall service I have received in all Brends hotels. We visited the Imperial to celebrate my cousins birthday and the staff provided a lovely hand written card and ballon which goes above and beyond good service!

We visited again. This time for afternoon lunch with the in-laws. Once again we enjoyed first class service and sumptuous food at very reasonable prices. The free park is located within a few metres so that help with my Mother in Laws mobility problems. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the menu extensive offering al a carte or a set price two or three course offering. Thank you for another lovely visit. See you soon.

I really like this hotel, and would suggest it to anyone visiting from overseas as a good example of how things used to be done. The building is older and has all the quirkiness that comes with that. The room I had was reasonably spacious and well appointed, very clean, nothing to really pick fault with. The common areas downstairs are traditionally decorated, well maintained, and display the history of the location well. They are warm and inviting. The real thing about this hotel is that the service element is still there, from reception, to the bar and into the restaurant. Staff are plentiful and attentive, and it all adds up to a very civilised experience. I ate in the restaurant and the food was good, with a decent wine list. The room price is reasonable and the restaurant price is possibly at the high end, but the quality is there and the service and overall vibe made it worthwhile for me. It's all a little posh, but in no way stuck up.

Went today for festive afternoon tea. We were sat in huge chairs making it difficult to eat. We were completely ignored, though other guests were asked if they needed anything. Had to grab their attention with some staff walking off ignoring you, to get a drink of water. We had to ask twice for a box to take remaining things home. Other guests had hot water and sugar with their tea and were asked again if wanted more, we had no hot water or sugar and again not asked if wanted anything. Food was plentiful and was okay. Had to go ask for our coats and the bill. When I paid I mentioned we were ignored and he said they were extremely busy, this was a cop out as the other guests were attended too. It was a shame as I wanted to make it a good memory/experience with my daughter. Service not worth the money paid for it. To not go into the restaurant was unexpected.

Just a short 3 night DBB stay but what a beautiful experience. Room overlooking the river was spacious with nothing overlooked, including our request for sheets and blankets. A fridge with some complimentary drinks and chocs and fruit on arrival. Staff were first class... lots of young people, some learning hospitality skills. Food at breakfast and dinner was faultless with a superb choice. We'd visit again if going to the area.
