The highlight of this hotel are the rooms: very beautifully done and spacious. The grounds are also nice and pleasant to walk around. However the property is showing its age and there are some seemingly more recent modifications that detract from the ambiance (very obvious pipping added to the exterior of many buildings). Nice gym and swimming pool. There are saunas is the locker rooms but the men’s was broke and the women’s didn’t get very hot. Breakfast was excellent: a very generous buffet featuring both western and Chinese options, made-to-order eggs and a noodle bar (fantastic dan dan mian!). The onsite sichuan restaurant was good albeit a little pricey for China. 3.5/5 not because my experience was bad (I really enjoyed my stay), but because I think the experience didn’t live up to the price point and Six Senses name.

We had an amazing stay at Six Senses Qing Cheng mountain. The property is spacious and beautifully integrated amidst nature. They had on-site kids club, restaurants, farms, tennis courts, football field... and there's plenty to do in the surrounding area (hike to Qing Cheng Mountain, tour at Doujiangyan, visit the Panda Valley). Breakfast was amazing but I'd not recommend the Asian restaurant (Zi Qi Yuan) - food was decent, but extremely pricey. There's plenty of choices nearby with great food at a lower price point. Staff was amazing - special shoutout to our butler, Marco. He was extremely attentive and made us feel at home. We hope to come back again one day.

Stay in September 2025 – Three Nights at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain We spent three nights at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain in September 2025. As this was our first stay at a Six Senses resort, our expectations were accordingly high. The resort itself is spaciously laid out and beautifully nestled within the surrounding landscape. However, many parts of the property show visible signs of aging. Paintwork has faded, and wooden surfaces are weathered – a renovation seems necessary to bring the resort back in line with the standards suggested by its online images and marketing. Our room was spacious and clean. The small panda plush toys left as a welcome gift were a charming touch. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was very disruptive at night, switching on and off every couple of minutes. During turndown service, used towels placed on the floor were not replaced – something that should not happen in a property of this category. Overall, service throughout the resort only partially lived up to the expectations of a five-star hotel. One notable exception was the team at the Thai restaurant, who were attentive, warm, and professional. In contrast, the outdoor pool area lacked any kind of service: guests had to fetch towels themselves, and even basic amenities like water or mosquito repellent – which was clearly needed – were not available, even upon request. Breakfast offered a good selection of international and Chinese dishes. However, the staff in the breakfast area were often inattentive, despite not appearing particularly busy. The coffee was consistently weak and watery, and tea was served in a single large mug. Given the significance of tea culture in China, we had expected a more thoughtful and refined presentation. At check-out, no one inquired about our stay or wished us a pleasant onward journey. Upon request, we were at least given a bottle of water for the trip to the airport. In general, the team gave the impression of focusing more on quick guest turnover rather than delivering a holistic five-star experience. Our conclusion: The resort has great potential and is located in a beautiful setting. However, the current standard does not meet what we expect from Six Senses or a true five-star property. We sincerely hope this experience is not representative of the brand as a whole – our upcoming stay at Six Senses Koh Samui later this year will be a chance to see whether the chain can still live up to its reputation.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. We always plan in between an intense vacation schedule one destination where we go just to rest and enjoy nature. This hotel was the perfect choice. It is tranquil, comfortable, spacious, and and the same time there is plenty to do either in the hotel or the surrounding area. In between enjoying the hotel facilities such as the spa and hot springs, we did some guided tours: Red Pandas "Volunteering", Douyangjian, Qingcheng Mountain. Hickey and Himmel were terrific guides, knowledgeable about the area and very entertaining conversationslists. They definitely made our experience more enjoyable. A very special thanks to Maricel, our butler during our stay. She went out of her way to ensure everything was to the best of our expectations. Always available to help, even after we left: I ended up leaving some personal items, she promptly arranged for them to be delivered at our next destination. We definitely would recommend the hotel, and we certainly would consider staying at other Six Senses Resorts on future trips.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Six Sense Qing Cheng Mountain resort! We spent three nights there and honestly wished we could have stayed longer. We were looking for a peaceful and quiet retreat away from city life, and we definitely found it here. The lush green surroundings of the resort coupled with tastefully furnished traditional wooden houses gave us a sense of peace and tranquility. The weather was cool at the beginning of autumn, and we enjoyed taking slow walks around the property. I appreciated all the thought and detail that went into how the resort was run. For example, I loved the sustainability initiatives and the farm-to-table concept at the hotel. There was also effort put into sharing these values with children, such as asking them to harvest eggs in the farm in exchange for tokens to get ice-cream. The resort is also very pet-friendly, and raises funds for an animal shelter in Chengdu city. A few special shout-outs to the amazing staff that left a lasting impression on us: - Our driver Mr Liang Cheng, who picked us up at the airport and gave us such a warm welcome to Chengdu. We enjoyed listening to his stories about life as a local, and the long ride flew by so quickly! - Vanilla Tang from the guest experience team, who patiently attended to all my questions and requests prior to the trip. Thank you for making all the necessary arrangements and giving us good recommendations on things to do. - Our butler, Maricel, who was very attentive to us throughout our stay! She checked in on our needs regularly, and made us feel at home. - The massage therapist, Amy, who was very professional and skillful. The treatments were so good that we went back two days in a row! - The waitress, 赵欢, who always welcomed us during breakfast with a bright smile on her face. We felt utterly spoiled during our stay at Six Senses, and we hope that we can come back again soon! Thank you all for an amazing experience ☺️
