We spent one night with my wife at this hotel that was so close to Gora Station. It has a traditional atmosphere and adults-only, offering a peaceful stay. There is a free shuttle service, an excellent dinner presentation, an affordable spa and hot stone bath service and they provide kimonos and slippers, making it comfortable to walk around. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Although the onsen feels a bit small, two average adults can comfortably fit. If you are planning a trip to Hakone, I recommend adding this place to your itinerary and staying at least two nights.

The Hotel was a bit dated but otherwise, no complaints. It was clean, quiet and comfortable and that's really all I need. The staff was friendly, professional and respectful. The indoor onsen was just fine and the temp was at 42 degress C - just right for me. What put me over top here was the FOOD! Everything and I mean everything that was served for dinner and breakfast was top notch and super delicious! I have stayed at dozens Ryokans throughout Japan and this place takes the award for the most memorable food experience. One word of caution - the hill leading up to the hotel from Gora station is just brutal while dragging luggage! I thought it was a short walk, but don't do it! Either take the hotel shuttle or the cable car up two stops to Koen Kami station and go down the hill a short ways.

The views are really nice but the service at this hotel is terrible. I wanted to make a reservation for dinner and they told me I had to call the number or book it beforehand. Despite the fact there were over a dozen tables available. Which were not reserved. I explained I could not make a booking through phone call and was not offered a dinner menu upon booking or check in. They would still not let me book there to have dinner despite being a paying guest at the hotel. I went to bed hungry and wondering why the hell I even booked here I could have slept under the Gora underpass and bought sandwiches from seven 11 instead. 0/10. Do “bettei” next time.

The room we had was OK (3rd floor). It was big and clean, the bathroom a bit old but we were good with it. However, there are certain things that can be improved and are easy to fix. There are not many plugs around the room, so if you want to charge your phone while using it, you will have to be away from your bed. Wifi signal is very poor too, most of the time I had to use my own data because signal wasn’t strong enough. We didn’t like the breakfast, we don’t think it’s worth it. Public baths were good. Staff is kind and helpful. The location of the hotel is not as good as others, as it’s located after two long and steep uphills. We arrived at night, tired, and climbing that was a pain. Overall our stay was slightly above average, but I think some details should be fixed, as the mentioned above, and the price should be a bit cheaper for what’s offered.

Fantastic little place 1-2 stops from Gora station by cable car. Comfortable and clean hotel with nice amenities. Some rooms have private bath. Dinner and breakfast that were included were excellent.
