Terrible - AVOID 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 not even 1 star.
Booked 6 months in advance because we are travelling with a 30kg dog and it is difficult to find a hotel for that! Approach to hotel is beautiful BUT that is where it stops. Parking, not much shade but lots of weeds everywhere! The “Botanical Garden” is a complete joke. Weeds up to your knees and dead plants. Children’s play areas broken and inaccessible with weeds. Pathways full of weeds and broken glass. Rotten wood and broken lights. Should have walked away then! No staff at reception. Rang the bell and eventually someone arrived. They gave the key and directions to the room and nothing else. No information about the (bad) facilities. Nothing about breakfast nothing about dinner, nothing about the bar, nothing about the “spa”. Seems like no other guests here, yet we were given a top floor room (requested a ground floor room! ). Room was dark with low ceiling and roof window with broken blind. No tea or coffee facilities in room. No mobile phone signal in room and no wi-fi either. Only place for wi-if is in the reception “zone”! The connection to internet was unusable, it kept dropping and asking for password over and over again. Windows are all filthy. Decided to not eat here, drove to local town for food. Came back for a beer - not possible. Skipped breakfast and went to town again! Could not wait to leave here. Will never stay again. Advise strongly to avoid. And it’s expensive over €120/room such a place should be ashamed to ask for that price for nothing… we almost decided to sleep in the car! Update: at 5am after a partial night sleep on the most uncomfortable bed with an even more uncomfortable pillow and a toilet that has running water constantly, we should have chosen the car option! Tried to check out. 9am No staff available! Left the key at reception and drove away never to return. Seriously, this is not funny. It is a disgrace. Positives: hot water and have not ‘seen’ any cockroaches, mice or rats.
