I had a lovely stay at the Best Western Plus West Retford Hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the historic building adds a lot of charm. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent—fresh and well-prepared. Only downside was the breakfast, which felt a bit basic compared to the rest of the experience. Overall, a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Would definitely return!

An excellent 4 night base for visits in the area. It must have been a splendid residence in the past. We have stayed before and will likely do so again.

Quick check in. Room comfy and clean. No plug sockets at the bedside. Very quiet. Lovely breakfast cooked to order.

We suggest you check that a wedding is not booked during your stay. Kept awake with shouting, arguments, slamming doors til 6am. Reported to reception who said night porter was not available to do his rounds, as was kept busy in the bar for wedding guests. Dated rooms with badly stained carpet, bed solid. Never again, terrible experience.

The hotel staff were great but the hotel is getting a bit tired.

Here for a masquerade ball on the Friday evening so stayed over for 2 nights. Lovely room.Very comfy and clean It did get a bit hot and we couldn't turn down the radiator. There was a QR code that you could click on to access the hotel guide.Also a section where you could agree not to have your room serviced and could choose a reward instead(drinks or snacks) I was very impressed as we didn't need our linen or towels changing. However having submitted my preference the link didn't work so we got our room serviced anyway. Maybe it would be easier just to let the receptionist know as we have done in other hotel chains,and it worked well.No unnecessary linen washing and we got a little treat.Glad West Retford are championing this even though in my case it didn't work properly.

The room was basic, but it was spacious and clean and the price was fair. We appreciated the ample free parking after several nights fighting for (and paying a small fortune for) a parking spot for our rental car. We walked into the cute village of Retford (maybe a mile away) and had a drink and snack at Rondo Lounge which was a neat place. The breakfast at the Best Western was fine for the price and the staff was friendly. I recommend it if you are looking for a safe, clean place to sleep.

We found the staff to be helpful and polite, the room to be clean and to a good standard, the grounds to be very well kept, and tidy. The only slight downside was the cost of food and drinks.

A large country house style hotel with nice grounds and plenty of parking. Charming staff and tasty dining. Large well equipped bedrooms.

We didn't have time to explore the beautiful garden as was a short visit to see friends. Room fabulous, clean, tidy and quiet. Safe pleasant & helpful. Thankyou

We stayed here around 10 years ago for a wedding and it was great. Although ‘ok’ now, the real let down was the bed - so uncomfortable to the extent that we barely got any sleep. It’s in beautiful surroundings but it’s looking tired and certainly isn’t the standard it was ten years ago. Staff on reception were friendly and welcoming. Staff at breakfast were indifferent at best. It served a purpose for us but sadly we won’t be rushing back.

Lovely and clean

This is about our 5th time staying at this hotel. Each time I have problems with room safe. Batteries require changing as DEAD, NO instructions how to use, unable to program, programmed but then wouldn't open. This time the safe was closed & locked when we entered room. Had to get staff to sort out. After 3 visits & about 30 mins it was sorted. But I shouldn't have to keep doing this everytime we come to this hotel. Also the wifi wasn't working properly. You could connect to wifi router, but there was no internet access. Not good when you need to check things to do with your holiday.

Very nice welcome from reception and when room allocated wasn't suitable, it was changed immediately to what we wanted. Receptionist was very helpful throughout our overnight stay. The room was excellent, very spacious and beautifully clean, especially the bathroom. The only downside was very poor service in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast.

Brilliant hotel, one of the comfiest beds I’ve stayed in and I travel a lot, not what I was expecting with this chain of hotels. Thought I was going to be let down at breakfast but coffee is amazing, staff are great and so is the food! Definitely staying again!
