I was unable to arrive at the guesthouse due to the war situation — the airspace was closed and my flight was canceled.
I contacted the management in advance and asked to postpone my stay. The booking had been fully paid months ahead, but unfortunately, they refused any flexibility or accommodation.
In the short term, they kept the payment. In the long term, they have lost a returning guest — and potentially others who value fair and understanding service.
I’ve visited Budapest many times, and there are plenty of places that treat guests with more consideration and flexibility. I recommend future travelers take this into account and choose carefully.
