The staff are professional, but could be warmer, more cheerful, and more accommodating to compete with other newer 4-star hotels. The security and porters are very good. Highlights: The atmosphere here is very Saigon-like: Guests and staff are friendly and less pretentious, which I really appreciate. If they removed some of the old, outdated items, cleaned the elevators more thoroughly, offered welcome drinks, etc., the hotel could raise room rates slightly, and guests would still be happy because they would feel more "luxurious." Price: I booked during a discount period, so the value was good. If I had paid the full price, it would probably be difficult to compete. The staff at KS Saigon Buon Me are friendly (from security guards, restaurant staff, to cleaning staff). The gym is small and has few exercise equipment (only a lat pulldown machine, a few dumbbells, and some old equipment), and the equipment makes a scary noise. They don't provide drinking water, so remember to bring your own bottle. The pool was murky when I arrived. When I asked why, they said they were spreading chlorine powder to treat the water, but there was no sign indicating the treatment and no one supervising. Anyone not paying close attention could get skin irritation. The breakfast buffet is monotonous, the same every day. The hotel needs renovations. Many tables on the 4th floor are broken, the repairs aren't done well, and it looks very rickety.

The hotel has a nice location and facade. But the quality of service and facilities is very bad. The bedroom has a soft bed with a sagging back, high pillows that make the neck stiff. The bathroom has no standing shower, and the bathtub has no lid to hold the bath water. The room also has poor odor removal.

I rented 2 rooms for 2 nights at the hotel. When I entered, the receptionist was very taciturn, not friendly, and did not smile. The quality of the bed was very poor, all the spring mattresses were sagging, waking up made me very tired because my back was sagging, the high, hard pillows made my neck stiff. The bathroom did not have a standing shower, whether I wanted to take a quick or slow shower, I had to climb into the tub.
