We had a lovely stay in a comfortable room. We had a nice dinner in the bar which was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and served with a smile. And the beer’s not bad either!

I was a completely unplanned visitor who trekked the moors at night to reach the Inn. Though the only thing that happened on the moors was fulfilling an American's silly Holmesian fantasy of walking the moors at night, everyone was concerned for my safety and I really appreciated that. My stay was wonderful, the food was really delicious, and everyone with whom I spoke was just up-front and pleasant. I will be back some day and guess where I'll stay?

Wonderful stop if you're in the area. Very close to Steel Rigg. Staff were very friendly & there was a great vibe in the bar. Food (dinner & breakfast) was lovely. Room had everything you need including large towels which was a bonus!

This is such an amazing place. Its in a really wild location very close to Hadrian's Wall, beautiful countryside - but it can get a little wet and windy. So stepping into this cosy welcoming place and having some of their own beer and food in front of the fire is just exactly what you want. Stay the whole weekend and explore the Vindolanda museum. You can even get there by bus! And at night the stars are so bright

We had a fun evening in the pub, good food, and nice people. Our room was clean, comfortable, and perfectly sound proofed. We overlooked the parking lot but couldn’t hear people, cars, or dogs, even though we could see them. Great location for exploring Hadrians wall when you have limited time as we did.

Stafff were lovely & helpfull. We had a nice view but unfortunately it was above the entrance door to pub & main road outside. Didnt sleep very well because of folk coming & going & traffic.

Stop over whilst walking Hadrians Wall Path. We had one of the cabins which was clean. the outstanding part of our stay was however the food. One of the best steak pies I have had and son thought the same on his fish and chips.

As a hiker on the Hadrians Wall trail, this venue had everything; good food, good beer and a good drying room. After a wet walk this was most welcome. This place was very convenient on the Wall trail and would highly recommend.

Staff so helpful, nothing too much trouble. Secure bike storage and even a drying room for soggy walking and cycling things.
