Warm friendly staff

Very nice hotel on outskirts of Dundalk convenient for Cooley paninsula. Comfortable rooms and public spaces. Food offering good overall. Good bar food menu with roast of the day which was very nice only downside it was roast of EVERY Day during our stay. Even though it is laudable that the hotel operates a circular food system and even more so that they would support their neighbouring turkey producers maybe a change now and again would enhance the bar menu. However a lovely experience overall and have no difficulty reccomending to others.

Room not ready at 3pm and asked to wait. Whilst waiting numerous wedding guests arrived and were given their rooms straight away. After 25 minutes waiting had to queue behind the wedding guests to be seen. Receptionist then told us the room still wasn’t ready and could we wait. When I gave a quite legitimate objection, she said she would try and sort our room out but if not change us to another room. Waited a further 10 minutes watching more wedding guests arrive and getting their rooms straight away. Finally, receptionist called me over and handed me the key to a different room. Shame she couldn’t do this at the outset.

The staff where so pleasant, nothing was a problem for them, the food was amazing, lovely two day break

We stayed 2 nights for/after a wedding. The reception was fabulous, everything ran smoothly, the grounds were beautiful, roses in full bloom, staff were friendly and efficient. The newly refurbished rooms were really nice but the 'older' rooms were great too. Everyone commented on the comfortable beds across the hotel. Pool facilities were good, breakfast room had a lovely ambience. Most of our party had an explore around the grounds and walk to the dolman and all enjoyed the hotel. Highly recommend

We have stayed at the Ballymascanlon many times and it is always a pleasure to go back. Beautiful location, first class friendly service and a great experience from start to finish. The heron's nests and fledgelings was an absolute bonus!!

Rooms, surroundings, food, staff and golf all great. I felt the spa facilities were disappointing and lacked attention to cleanliness.

Fabulous stay at Ballymascanlon Hotel, excellent team working there all round. Lovely food, incredible gardens and walks. The leisure facilities are top notch! Cannot wait to return
