Service was okay. Not enough people on for breakfast which was poor

Nice hotel and excellent staff, but you need to be a powerlifter to turn the tap on in the bath as the water pressure is so poor it can take 45 minutes to fill the tub. Also if you want a shower the water comes out in a dribble, not enough to wash the shampoo out of your hair

Arrival was a little upsetting as we had asked for use of a wheelchair and phoned the week before to check availability, told there was no wheelchair. After a short while a solution was found and the wheelchair was usable thankfully. The room was perfect well appointed and super view of the bay. the staff were friendly and happy to help when asked only real negative was dinner service was very slow.

Overall the room was clean and spacious. Property is old and in need of renovation. Our room was on the back of the property in what can be described as a row of little shanty looking houses. It did the job but I won't be staying here again.

We were not placed in the room we booked, which apparently does not even exist. The sheets were dirty on one of the beds, and there were dirty bandaids littered across the entryway to our room. The staff was very kind and attentive, but it's hard to make up for that feeling that you are sleeping in a really dirty room.

This property does show its age. The staff we’re overall unhelpful and unwelcoming and we were charged an extra 45 pounds for having 3 people in a triple room. When asked to have follow up on this I am still waiting 5 days later for a call from management that was unavailable to address my concerns.

The hotel was lovely with friendly staff. The room and bed was very large, a little dated and could do with more power sockets. Also the shower head would not stay in the holder so you had to hand hold. The breakfast was very tasty.

Older property with lots of character. Elegant accents. Rooms a little cooler overnight.

Hotel is in a superb location. It shows its age but much has been done to modernize it, which frequently clashes with its original decor.

very enjoyable stay

The room had no air conditioning or a fan. It was hot and very uncomfortable in early May. I would NOT recommend staying here in the summer months. Hotel rooms need updating!

Pros: Amazing location and views. Spacious room. Breakfast was excellent. Room was clean. Cons: Bathroom was small and dated. Needs an upgrade. Pool was not heated as advertised.

Great location to walk into township. Lovely views from our room. Helpful staff member organised our laundry on arrival as we had been travelling for weeks.

So, I am annoyed with this property. I booked 2 standard double rooms. One room was lovely & one could move around & even have an open suitcase. Mine...so small I put 1 chair in the hall; couldn’t use the wardrobe unlesx I wanted to drag a chair out of the way every time it needed to be used. No space for one's suitcase, ugh. If a person books 2 roomd, at least try and have them be similar...very annoyed. Breakfast was had a lovely view & was good. Staff was helpful, except when the night desk managed to mess up the taxi request....mad dash to train that morning.

Very good location for exploring the area. Worth getting a room with a sea view. Room very comfortable and clean. Food ok, but it pays to book in advance. Breakfast very good. Parking can be a bit of a lottery, but there’s a public car park nearby. Easy walk into the centre of Oban and a nice walk up the back of the hotel to a castle. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend.

Mediocre

This hotel was conveniently located and the hotel itself looks impressive from the outside. We stayed in a family suite which is in more of a motel-type building behind the parking lot. The room was spacious, but felt like it needed updating. The water pressure in the shower was not great and the water temperature was pretty inconsistent - the first morning (very early) I had a cold shower, the second day (later in the morning) it was just warm enough, and on the third day it was a good temperature for me, but my husband's shower wasn't hot enough. There were ants in the suite. They provide the makings for tea and hot chocolate in the room, which was really nice, but when the cleaning service came in they did not switch out our dirty hot chocolate mugs and spoons for clean ones. There are no fridges in the rooms; however, the staff were happy to store some food we bought, for a day trip the next day, in the hotel fridge overnight which was really nice. Our door would not lock on our first day and a repair person was called and there within 10 minutes. So service was good when you approached with a problem, and front desk staff was friendly. We had the breakfast buffet on our last day and it was excellent! The pool was also a really nice feature and we used it twice. It was quiet and safe and we had a pleasant stay.

Dated decor, needs upgrading. Had to get window fixed so it would shut, it was done promptly!
