This hotel had lots of charm and was in a really good location for what we needed. We wanted a place where we could walk from the train station without taking the water bus. This hotel was about a 5 minute walk. There were lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We had a view of one of the many churches in Venice. Our room was spacious with a large bed and a very small bathroom. The shower was broken. The host was very helpful and overall we had a good stay.

Shower in the room was broken even though I had paid extra for a private shower.

Avoid this place like the plague! Absolute worst accomodation experience I’ve ever had and has ruined my time in Venice. Owner is shifty, arrogant and creepy. Shower was broken, room stunk of mould and I found bed bugs. Had to checkout on day one, I couldn’t do it. I plead with you to not fall into the trap of wasting your money on this abomination of a hotel.

At first no AC and then on a new room the AC was very noisy. I guess we were unlucky with it, but there was no compensation and the noisy AC cost $10 extra.

Air conditioning was extra €10 cash; set at 25c°; very warm when entering room; Windows - no screens, two mosquitoes in room with windows open. No water, no fridge or coffee, no breakfast . Sleeping quarters only. Clean room. Room would be okay if not in summer due to warm weather. Owner was nice. Borrowed two prong adapter for phone charger. Comfortable mattress.

The location is perfect; close to sights, restaurants and transit. Rooms are very basic, good enough for a 1 or 2 night stay. Breakfast was good.Nothing fancy but a step up from your basic... juice, coffe, tea, fresh rolls, yam, yoghurt, cereal.

Great hotel. The 10 euro upgrade to a room with hotel was totally worth it.

Great hotel in great location. Walking distance from train station and Piazzale Roma Bus & Car parking and good position to explore Venice. Small but clean cannot fault it!

This is a very old building. Our room was small but clean and it is in a great location, very central. Because it is such an old building the walls are not soundproof but we were happy with our stay!

We had a great time in magical Venice...Hotel Gabbo was as advertised (clean, efficient, quiet, chatming , felt local) and a great location. So glad we picked Hotel Gabbo!

We enjoyed staying at this hotel as it was in a good location as we needed to catch a cruise. The hosts were kind and helpful. The breakfast was very basic and the coffee was very good. The air conditioning wasn’t very cold but all in all a comfortable bed and good nights sleep.

Best location to stay in Venice. Near the train station, so you don't have to carry your luggage bag across Venice. Super friendly staff and easy check in. Be advised that there's no air conditioning so maybe that's only upon request.

Friendly staff only! I booked this hotel twice, this is the worst hotel I have ever witnessed in my entire life. First room full of ants, too small, very very noisy, didn't get any sleep. Second room, very very old furniture, no ants but my son and I got bitten by bed bugs. Extremely hot, I booked it with an Ac option, only to discover at the hotel I had to pay for it! Too many stairs, very depressing old furniture, old bed sheets, old towels, old everything and anything! This hotel ruined my vacation!

The Auberge is a 10 minute suitcase roll from the train station and is perfectly located for overnight travelers as it's just after the spot where the relatively soulless part of the station neighborhood is transformed into the ancient, canal city. The hotel is very simple, clean and decent with a nice, slightly eccentric bearded owner who is up day and night to take care of keys, getting the fan to work (warning: no air conditioning!) and welcoming guests. At the $80 rate I paid for this spot during high season, it was outstanding value for money, and I would definitely return.

Venezia is my favorite city in the entire Italy. I chose this hotel because of its convenience and proximity to the FS (Train station). It is about 10-15 min nice walk from FS on the left. The campo where it resides has a lot of restaurants and gelato places. It is a convenient location to take either the Macoulo or Ferrovia vaporetta. The room was clean and in good condition. However, our room was not equipped with AC, so on a summer hot day, it could be uncomfortable. Cooling down depends only on the ceiling fan alone. Also, if you open the window, bugs came in. We had to fight off a mosquito before going to bed, that was the deal without AC and having to open the window without a screen. That is the only downside. Overall, I still think this is satisfactory.

This hotel does not have air conditioning. OpenIng the window allows mosquitoes to come in. The room does have a sink and a bidet (why?) in the room but the shared toilet is down the hall and the shared shower is downstairs. You must ask hotel staff for a towel. The location is fine. It's only a few minutes walk from the train station. I cannot recommend this hotel.
