Breakfast was lovely and our hostess very friendly

The owners were friendly and accommodating.

The staff/owners were very polite and helpful. The facilities are excellent and well throughtout. The hotel was clean, parking was easy. Breakfast was good. Would stay here again.

Our stay was really excellent, the room had everything we needed and more! Our dinner was amazing and the breakfast had so much choice of lovely fruit, cereal, juice and great cooked food. We would definitely stay here again

What an amazing experience it was staying at The Olde Forge Hotel this past weekend. The hotel offered a superb base for our weekend plans, but it was the staff that really stood out as friendly, welcoming and professional throughout. First impressions were strong as upon opening the front door to go and check in, we were greeted by a bowl of chocolate limes at reception, confirming (at least to my mind) the quality of the establishment that we were staying in. The rooms were excellent; spacious, clean and had all of the amenities that you would expect. The private bathroom and shower were brilliant and the heating was delightful throughout our stay. The purpose of our stay was to facilitate a trip to the Observatory Science Centre (https://www.the-observatory.org/) in nearby Herstmonceux and being only 10 minutes away meant that we got to enjoy a wonderful evening there star gazing knowing that we could stay as late as we wanted thanks to us being given a key to get back into the hotel. Breakfast the next day was outstanding and after fulfilling the initial obligation of some fruit and yoghurt, a Full English was on the cards and once again exceeded all expectations. Go for the poached egg option; you won't be disappointed! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would not hesitate to recommend to others nor to return ourselves. Thank you for having us!

Made to feel very welcome on arrival. We had a lovely room, very comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities. Breakfast and our evening meals were excellent 10/10. Our hosts were very friendly, really nice people.

Lovely cosy hotel with the friendliest hosts, Phillip and Nicky, who couldn’t have been more helpful for all our needs during our stay. We ate at the hotel one night of our stay and it was delicious. We were at a wedding the second night, otherwise we’d have happily eaten there again!

Poor location right on a busy road. Garden only a concrete area right by the traffic.

Great period old coach house on the Hastings side of Hailsham on the main route through. A bit of road noise but nothing to really worry about. Great hosts and even though they mentioned that they were on limited menu - you wouldn't have known.All meals cooked fresh to order. Brilliant poached eggs for breakfast - always a good test to see if the chef knows what they are doing ! Will be back at some point. Many thanks for your hospitality

Excellent breakfast comfortable if a little compact room. Hosts made us welcome and introduced us to the hotel policies. Exceptionally clean and good use made of available space in a converted traditional and historic building. Nice well maintained garden area. The only niggle was the road noise late into the night and early morning. If we stay there again we would request one of the rooms at the rear of the property. Overall a very pleasant two night break at an interesting property run by lovely hosts.

Phillip and Nicky were so welcoming to me and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I was trying to manage a family situation and Phillip went above and beyond providing a ride for me since I couldn't find a taxi. They made a beautiful dinner and breakfast for me and offered a helping hand to my situation. The room was very comfortable and clean...and my bed was so comfortable! Thank you!
