Our trip to Alaminos was pretty pleasant. Except for this experience. The staff were not disrespectful but the service needs some leveling up. Our room didn't cost much, but we assumed that they provide decent service for a cheaper price and we were proved wrong. My parents had to stay some place else (which the Caribbean team arranged) due to overbooking and our room is located at the kitchen area. It was an unpleasant experience. Upon arriving at the transient house, we were told that there was an overbooking and that they cannot accommodate all of us. In all fairness, they found a way to solve this dilemma and sent two members of our group in their relative's transient house nearby. It was inconvenient but we decided to just understand since we had no choice and perhaps the situation was completely unprecedented and unexpected. Our room is located right beside the kitchen, separate from the other rooms. At first, I didn't mind the location. This particular room is not featured in their account. The room looked okay and the bathroom is big. However, one of the problem is that a part of the "ventilation" by the wall is a bit broken creating a hole, which makes taking a bath a bit uncomfortable. The most uncomfortable thing about our stay is when the smell from the kitchen (whenever someone is cooking) envelops our room. When we returned back from dinner, our room smells like some dish. Not to mention, the noise from the kitchen and surrounding areas travels inside our room (we can even hear them washing the plates). The noise was so loud that it woke me up when they started preparing breakfast. Part of what we paid for, no matter how cheap or affordable that is, is free Wi-Fi. By the night time, the three of us cannot connect to the wi-fi anymore since it's already full. No apologies were given. Won't recommend this place to anyone I know.
