I’ve always loved Mantanani, and this place has been part of my yearly escape. And this is not my first time staying here.
However, this visit was quite disappointing compared to my previous experiences. The kitchen and overall service need significant improvement. Very basic items such as cool ice and fresh coconut were not available, and many menu items were unavailable throughout the stay and the food quality was not as good as in my previous stays.
Cleanliness also needs improvement, as it did not meet the standard I remembered from previous visits.
The staff experience was below expectation, especially at the reception, where friendliness and hospitality felt lacking. Additionally, although it was not raining, the cushions for the beach chairs were kept away, which affected guest comfort.
During departure, one of the boats experienced engine failure. Although I was on a different boat, my bag was on the affected boat, resulting in a delay of approximately 1.5 hours. There was no update or communication from the staff at the jetty throughout the delay, which was very unprofessional. No refreshments or assistance were provided during this time, leaving guests hungry and thirsty. This was extremely disappointing, especially as I had a night flight to catch.
I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves service coordination, communication, and guest care, as this resort has great potential and means a lot to returning guests like myself.
