Really nice hotel. Clean, convenient and in a great location. Views are beautiful and breakfast is great!

Superb! Incredible location, great staff, top shelf all the way. Minor comments: Have pool side service; consider opening a seafood restaurant on site; somewhat surprised that a spa right on the Atlantic has no seafood. Otherwise superb

Probably the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. Even the cleaners say hello when you walk past. Great service at the front desk through to the bar and restaurant. We couldn’t fault it. Would definitely stay there if we visit the Azores again

My son and I had a wonderful two night stay at Hotel Verde! The hotel was exceptional in every way - service, cleanliness, comfort, food, etc!! It was convenient having the beach right across the back yard area, and their indoor/outdoor pool areas were lovely (nice gym too!) I would highly recommend! It is worth noting that I saw mainly adults staying here (not that kids aren’t welcome but it had a more mature, quiet vibe).

We stayed here for a week during a family vacation to Sao Miguel. We loved it and would definitely consider coming back.

Lovely setting overlooking the ocean and a short walk to the beach. Great central location making it easy to get anywhere on the island in 15-60 minutes. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Staff were wonderful--friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice swimming pools and a location close to the beach. Otherwise, unremarkable and expensive.

This is a lovely hotel that feels luxurious and has the most beautiful views of the ocean. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is to die for. So much delicious food to choose from! The rooms are spacious and have everything needed. They are also very quiet and dark, ensuring a good night's sleep. Children loved the two swimming pools. The only, very minor, note is that some of the decor had small nicks, rips and scratches that you wouldn't expect to see in such a nice hotel, but this in no way detracts from the overall lovely experience.

Hotel Verde Mar and Spa was an excellent place to stay in Ribeira Grande. It was very easy to find and with lots of free parking. Location is perfect with a grocery store across the street and easy walk to old town Ribeira Grande and Vera Marde beach right in front. We had the ocean-view king room with a balcony. I highly recommend upgrading to the ocean view rooms. The sound of the waves, watching surfers out front, beautiful sunsets from the balcony and watching the horses in the field in front of the hotel all made for a wonderful stay. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped (the small fridge is great for dinner leftovers and keeping water bottles cold). The room had a great bathroom with nice shower. The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices. The free bottle of red wine was a great treat. There's an indoor pool and sauna. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had an excellent 6 night stay.

Amazing hotel right next to the beach. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Sao Miquel.
