Hotel is about a 30-40 minute walk from Venice Mestre station. Can be enjoyable if the weather permits. Not much around the hotel as far as places to eat. But if you are looking to stay in Venice without the crowds or prices of Venice, this could be for you. Our group had no problem walking to and from the station, the hotel did order a taxi for us for an early morning departure. The area around the hotel is very quiet.

AC was set up to be hot. And we couldn’t get it to work on a lower temperature 🤒. So we had to open the balcony so cool air could get in. Also the water in the shower would be hot one second cold the next 😭.

Staff were helpful and spoke good English. Room was clean but felt outdated and basic. The room was mostly bare -- no coffee/tea/kettle, no tissue box and no iron for ironing clothes. Just a TV and chair. I had to ask downstairs and instead of being given one to take to my room, I was directed to a side room to do my ironing.

Great for the money

We did not stay at this property for the view, it was it's proximity to the airport. The location was very quiet, the staff was welcoming, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable. I would book here again without hesitation. Alexander was very close to the tram which takes you directly into Venice (about 10 minutes) and very simple to take. Staff was helpful with directions and offered choices on Mestre for dinner which could be walked to. The breakfast was included and catered to all tastes with plenty of seating.

they charged us $28 for a phone call when there were no signs of a fee for using the phone. very u professional staff and did not help us with the issue.

We had a good stay at the Alexander. The location is very easy and convenient to get to central Venice and the breakfast offered a decent selection. Also really appreciated the fridge in the room. The only disadvantage was the air conditioning wasn’t strong enough and the room was consistently 24c throughout our stay

Very nice hotel and in great condition. Friendly and helpful staff. Walkable to restaurants and tram to Venice. Only issue was the mattress was very firm and only 1 pillow per person.

Great hotel with great workers.

This is a terrific hotel for anyone who needs to grab a flight out of Marco Polo. It is 10 minutes away from the airport and the staff is happy to organize your transportation. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance and the hotel is very clean and very comfortable. Highly rated for this purpose.

Alexander, was the best hotel stay we had on our holiday travels in Italy. The building, room & breakfast facilities were well maintained, clean & fresh. We were expecting laundry facilities (listed on the Expedia information page) however on enquiry at reception, there were none. Situated on the mainland, away from the hustle of the Venice Islands, the hotel is nice & quiet, there are some good restaurants within walking distance, & it is well placed for easy access to the tram network & buses onto the main island - once you figure that out - reception wasn’t too helpful with this aspect, but perhaps we were hindered a little by our lack of Italian language. We requested a photocopy of the online transport booking we’d made (not knowing we’d need a print out until after completing transaction) & the staff said no. The woman told us to use the bus service nearby, to the island (“No one has ever checked her for tickets”) & to obtain a printout at the information centre. Low & behold, we were asked to show tickets on the bus & almost received hefty fines, however thankfully, the warden took pity & allowed us to complete the journey after sighting our online purchase on the phone. Other than that frustrating & time consuming experience, the stay at the Alexander hotel itself, was lovely.
