Hotel Belmar was magnificent! Everything about it was pristine. The service was so friendly. Staff were so genuinely kind, helpful, & welcoming. They upgraded our room & the view from the balcony was gorgeous. I really cant say enough great things about this place. We ate at the restaurants & everything was delicious. Location was perfect to the cloud forest reserve.

Hotel Belmar is now my favorite hotel I’ve stayed at. The restaurant is amazing. The vibe there is so relaxing. The couples massage we got there the first day set the tone. If I ever go back to monteverde, Thais is where I’ll stay.

We had the best time for our honeymoon at Hotel Belmar! They treated us whenever they could. The staff were so friendly and helpful at every turn and every member of staff seemed to know everyone's name. We took advantage of the onsite experiences by having a couple's massage, doing the night walk, swimming in the lake, using the whirlpool, free beer tasting and excellent food from the restaurant.

This hotel is beyond beautiful and luxurious. The staff are also very nice and helped us book zip lining. We loved the food at the restaurant and taste tasting the beers. Will definitely be back.

Nice location in Monteverde and staff were very friendly. Convenient for Selvatura and night tour options. The room didn’t have air conditioning and was very warm during the afternoon/evening. We had a room at the top of the hotel and it was rather noisy during the 2 nights we stayed as the weather was rather stormy. We found there was limited food options in the immediate area.

Don’t hesitate to stay at Hotel Belmar with your family. First time to Costa Rica and we wanted a hotel with a beautiful atmosphere- close to the cloud forests, clean and good food and drink. This is it- the hotel was even more beautiful on the inside than I expected. I love the small details like an actual tree to hold the sinks in the guest bathroom area. Our room was one of the basic ones on the first floor in the main lodge and it did not disappoint. The most helpful part was that the entire staff was so kind and going the extra mile. It made everything else very easy. We really enjoyed the yoga classes as well. Even kids are welcome at yoga! We booked a Guide through hotel belmar and saw monkeys and other animals in the nearby cloud forest and also did the El Tigre waterfall hike as recommended by the staff. It did not disappoint love riding horses up the steep hills. We slept soundly every night and could not have asked for a better start to our trip. Don’t forget to ask the hotel to arrange pick up at San Jose or Liberia airport for you. It was reasonable at about $200 And much better than driving those windy Mountain roads at night.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family, and while we had a pleasant time overall, there were a few aspects that left us wanting more. First, the hotel itself is quite nice and has a welcoming atmosphere. However, the rooms did not have blackout curtains, which meant we were woken up by the sunrise at 5:50 AM every day during our five-night stay. This made it challenging to get enough rest, and I would recommend that the hotel consider adding blackout options to improve guests' comfort. Another area for improvement was the dining experience. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and rather overpriced. We found that the prices were on par with those of a five-star hotel, yet the quality did not meet our expectations. We were hoping for better culinary options during our stay. On a positive note, we really enjoyed the tailored tours offered by the hotel. They provided a great way to explore the area and created lasting memories for our family. Additionally, I must mention the exceptional service we received from their massage therapist, Katy Molina. She was truly outstanding and provided one of the best massages I’ve ever experienced. In summary, while the hotel has its strengths, it would benefit from addressing the issues with room darkness and dining quality. Thank you for a memorable stay! ---

wonderfully quiet lodge in the cloud forest. i only wish they had more comfortable seating for lounging around. the balcony chairs are awful

Beautiful space with friendly, professional staff. Our room was quiet and comfortable with a stunning view. The staff always welcomed us with a cheerful greeting and were helpful in explaining gluten free options while dining. We felt safe walking down the road to some of the shops and enjoyed coffee at the shop down the hill. We highly recommend.

Top quality for an eco friendly hotel

The airport shutter is very convenient and runs around the clock. Making it an excellent stopping point around the airport.

Clean-wonderful staff

Lovely hotel in a great setting with very comfortable rooms . My only criticism would be the lack of interest at breakfast from the staff who were more interested in chatting or being on their phones than paying attention to customers which was a real shame as the food was lovely

Room 15 was noisy. ( Forest Room) . It’s often windy in Monteverde . Our room door to balcony had a small gap so the wind whistles all night . The furniture on the balcony hangs from chains . As the wind blew occasionally there would be a large bang as the furniture swung too ferociously. Don’t buy breakfast at $30pp. There is a La carte where each dish is between $12 and$ 16 . A dish of fruit and coffees are complementary so unless you go big you will find it hard to get to $30. The views are great but not unique in Monteverde

Was one of the nicest places that I’ve ever stayed. Staff were amazing, room was clean, the hotel smelled amazing.

AMAZING HOTEL. Such beautiful views, especially during sunset. Very nice and helpful staff. Great food. You can tell that they really care about making it a great experience for the guests. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. We had such an amazing time here.

This hotel was very pretty. The views from the restaurant are once in a lifetime incredible. You can see the Nicola peninsula -a must see. It feels like a European hotel. Quiet luxury. Very romantic and pretty. The grounds were lovely. Everything was top tier. Soaps and products smell delicious.

The staff was extremely kind and helpful and the rooms were magnificent. Very comfortable bed and great views. The brewery on the property was fun to hang out at with great grilled cheese sandwiches.

Loved that the hotel is all about sustainability. Excellent on site restaurant and eco-fiendly accmmodations.
