Atami Kinjokan’s city-view rooms would be pleasant under better circumstances, yet we ran into an issue where water dripped from the ceiling air conditioner on our second night. The hotel staff responded promptly to fix the problem, but it still left us disappointed with the building’s aging facilities. The dinner buffet includes free-flow drinks, though the food selection itself is fairly basic and left us with limited appealing options to choose from. Kinjo-kan in Atami is the top recommended hot spring inn if you're staying in Atami-so good, you almost don't want to share it. The hot spring water is rich and salty, offering a deeply soothing experience. You can enjoy a wide variety of buffet dishes while overlooking the townscape of Atami-both dinner and breakfast are served buffet-style. Dinner includes all-you-can-drink alcoholic beverages. Karaoke is available free of charge. Although it's a bit far from Atami Station, a complimentary shuttle bus is available between the inn and the station. The cost performance is excellent, and all the staff are kind and welcoming.

The hotel is old but the rooms are spacious. The onsen is fairly big and well-maintained. I would have given the hotel a 3.5 or 4* except that my towel and slippers were stolen while i was in the onsen. I had to walk to the lobby barefoot to get new slippers (thankfully my robe wasn't stolen). The worst part is that the thief had also gone through the contents of the robe basket next to mine, because I found someone else's clothes in my basket (that still had my own clothes in it as well). If they had only wanted a towel they could have just taken mine and gone, they didn't have to ransack everybody's baskets. The front desk did nothing when I reported this incident, other than give a weak apology and offer me another pair of slippers. I felt unsafe for the rest of my stay there. Unfortunately I will not be using this hotel again.

The first time I soaked in a hot spring in Japan was on a 36-degree summer day. The hot spring water was hot enough and the ice pool water was cold enough. It was very comfortable to use hot and cold water alternately. After soaking, my skin was smooth.

Quite old but well kept and clean. The service is also good. The buffet dinner however is very average. They do provide shuttle service to and from Atami station during check-in check-out hours.
