We spent three nights at Katari hotel in Arequipa (May 2026). You can't beat the location, right on the central plaza! They serve a very nice breakfast (made to order) on the open-air terrace overlooking the Plaza de Armas. It was so peaceful and lovely. We also had drinks at sunset from the same terrace. Loved it! The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the shower had good pressure and hot water (although there was one day when it was not as hot). From the hotel you can easily walk to restaurants (we loved Zig Zag, 13 Monjas and Dimas) and attractions (museum of history; catalina convent). Highly recommend it!

Excellent location directly on Plaza de Armas. Great rooftop for a generous breakfast à la carte menu or a sunset drink. We stayed in a suite which had windows with views of the plaza which was great. The front desk staff is so friendly, and housekeeping did a great job.

Hotel muy bonito y habitación cómoda y limpia. Buen desayuno y con la mejor vista de Arequipa. Súper recomendado.

I had an amazing stay at the Katari. The rooms were beautiful and well-appointed, with a comfy bed and nice shower. The terrace is wonderful with fantastic views of the main square, cathedral, and volcanoes. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. While I couldn’t check in early, they allowed me to move my breakfast from the last day to my arrival day. In addition, they surprised me with a treat on my birthday. I also received a wonderful massage which helped after a long bus ride, and used their laundry service which came back promptly the same day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

llegué al hotel y no me dieron mi cuarto sino hasta las 6:00 pm porque no habia agua en todo el hotel, no se podia ni usar el baño del lobby. ni siquiera me compenaron por las horas perdidas. la zona del bar / mirador estaba en reparaciones y no es nada de lo que ofrecen en las fotos.

Exceptional room. Amazing staff. Excellent wifi and breakfast. The location on Plaza de Armas can’t be beat. So walkable. We loved our stay! We had one hiccup. We asked for early check-in. Reception said none was available. Upon arriving at approximately 5:30 AM after a 16 hour overnight bus ride, we asked again. Reception said they could store our bags. Check-in was 1pm. Then they said for $50 USD we could check in early. We declined and stored our bags. We went for breakfast with fellow travellers. All were able to check in early for free at their hotels. When we returned from breakfast around 9am and asked to wait on the terrace, we were informed our room was ready and our luggage was in it. We were very, very happy and booked a few more nights.

The staff were excellent lovely place to stay

It was a great location. The restaurant was very good. Our first room was a little warm and they brought us a fan. The second room had a portable air conditioner in it, which made it very comfortable. It is in the historic area and it is logical that They have limitations on what they can do. Overall, a great experience.

The roof terrace for breakfast is a great way to start the day. The staff is super friendly and helpful and you can’t beat the location.

The restaurant was great and the room was very large and quiet.

Beautiful Property in the famous Armas courtyard. Great dining on the roof top, much to see always something going on. Next door to a grocery store and central to everywhere walkable. Staff are kind and helpful, breakfast ample & delicious. Massages affordable and amazing. My bedroom was elegant and spacious, the bathroom/ shower ample, soaps handmade and generous. Highly recommend. I'd come back if i ever have a reason.

Excelente ubicación en el corazón de Arequipa y cercana a las principales atracciones de la ciudad: museo de los Pueblos Andinos, conventos, etc. La terraza es muy bonita con diversas opciones para desayunar y cenar. El personal muy amable y hablan inglés.
