What is clear is that it is close to everywhere, close to Tugu Station and the busy center.

The location is good, the room is clean. The only downside is that the pillows have a slight odor, or perhaps the pillowcases weren't dry enough, so they smell like laundry that hasn't dried yet.

Overall, the hotel was good and the location was very convenient—close to the station and Malioboro, with an Indomaret right across the street and near VRTx. However, the bathroom could be improved, especially by providing a more pleasant fragrance or using mothballs/air fresheners. Also, sometimes the room doesn’t look exactly like the pictures shown. It would be better to provide real photos of the actual room. For example, the room I stayed in only had one king-size bed, which could accommodate three people, but the pictures made it look like there was one queen-size bed plus another mattress, giving the impression that it was a family room. Overall, though, the stay was good and the location was a big plus.

The hotel and room were very clean. The bathroom was very clean but had an odor. The sheets and towels were no longer white, but they were clean. The bathroom had hot water. There was a kettle in the room. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay here.

It's close to Tugu Monument, close to Malioboro, and close to Indomaret—it's excellent. The only downside is that it's in front of a salon, so it can be a bit embarrassing to go out, but overall, it's all good.

📍 Very strategic location on the roadside, the hotel's position is midway between Malioboro and Tugu Jogja. You can also order food here and the menu looked delicious, unfortunately we didn't have time to try it because it was too late so it was closed hehe. The room was comfortable, clean and fragrant for a 400 thousand rupiah accommodation. The toilet was also clean, but it is recommended to add bathroom freshener or camphor because it was a bit stuffy. Overall 9/10🌟

Best location from city center

My first time staying at Hotel Rene, and my overall rating was excellent. I recommend it for my next trip to Yogyakarta. The staff were all friendly, and even arriving at 1 a.m. still received excellent service. The place was clean, with a soft bed and complete amenities. It's conveniently located within walking distance of Tugu Yogyakarta Station.

I initially chose Rene because of the spacious room photo. When I got there, I got a strange room, with separate beds in the front and back. When I asked why it was different from the photo, they said that buying through the app is different from the physical one. The front room glass was covered with short green curtains along the glass next to the bed (very strange). The room door was made of glass, unlike the other rooms with wooden doors. The curtains had gaps held in place by black clips, but I saw from the outside that there were still gaps that made me uncomfortable. The two nights I stayed there always had an unpleasant smell like a leaking septic tank. The front TV didn't turn on. I complained about it being fixed, but it wasn't fixed until I got home. So please be aware that if the family room is sold out, don't force yourself to sell a room that doesn't match the photo, especially since I bought it for 670 thousand rupiah, which turned out to be a complete dud. 🤦
