I had a very pleasant and positive experience staying at the Hotel New Surya in Genteng, Banyuwangi, during a business trip. At the time, hotels in downtown Banyuwangi were fully booked, and my activities were closer to the Genteng area, making this hotel a great choice. The hotel's location is right on the main road, making it strategic and easily accessible. Furthermore, the hotel is quite close to several tourist destinations, including Hutan Jawatan, which is only about a 15-minute drive away. However, it's worth noting that the area around the hotel is relatively far from the city center.

The staff couldn't handle the check-in/out process properly. After waiting a long time to check in, another guest cut in, and the reception staff was fine with it. Next time, they should be more discerning and prioritize check-in. The bed didn't have a duvet, so the sheets slid around when I slept, not as tightly as in most hotels.

The staff was very welcoming. The food was quite good, but we waited 30 minutes for the welcome drink. Even ordering food took more than 30 minutes and it still didn't arrive. The breakfast menu was mediocre. There is a vehicle, but when you request a reservation, you're told it's not available. It's far from the city center, about 60-90 minutes from the city center. If you want to stay at this location, the information is to go to Pulau Merah. The room was a bit smelly.
