The location is great, as it's very close to Malioboro. However, vehicle access is a bit congested (stayed on a long weekend). The rooms are clean and spacious, but the towels are in need of a refresh. Breakfast is varied and could be improved. Overall, it's good. I'd stay again if I have the chance.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

The room was not very clean, the bathroom faucet was loose, I was afraid it would come off, there were mosquitoes, the sheets, pillows, and blankets smelled musty.

I stayed for 3 nights during a long weekend. The area in front of the hotel was crowded. However, access to the city center is very easy and highly recommended for those arriving by public transportation (train, shuttle, etc.). There are plenty of snacks along the front of the hotel, as this location is a favorite among visitors to Yogyakarta. Everything was great, and you don't have to worry about going hungry.

The staff is friendly, the food from room service is good and affordable, but the cleanliness is simply horrible. The towels smell bad and had stains, the sheets were stained (every day they cleaned our sheets - every day the new sheets had some type of stains!), the shower heads are dirty and the room was simply dirty and seemed old.

It's really fitting to be a 4-star hotel! It's not half-hearted, starting from the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the comfort of the room and all the facilities, and the menu variations for BF are also many and of course very delicious. I've stayed here twice. The first time was last February. The second time was just yesterday on the 18th. For the price, I think it's appropriate for the facilities. I got a price of 783 thousand including free breakfast for 2 adults and a one-year-old child who is still free. I think the food is delicious, complete from traditional to western menus. For the staff, they are very friendly, please give a plus point to the FO staff named Nurul. She is very friendly, beautiful, willing to greet my child when he was fussy about checking out at the FO, but Kak Nurul was willing to greet my child and my child did not become fussy. But there are also less friendly ones. My husband and I entered with only bags, no suitcases. The staff in the lobby wearing kebaya looked at my appearance from head to toe. Honestly, when I was waiting for the elevator, I was a bit uncomfortable because she looked at me like that. But for the others, they were very friendly and next time I go on holiday, I will stay at El Hotel Malioboro again ❤️

This hotel is my regular when I go on holiday to Jogja.

A comfortable, quiet, and clean hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with everything available, even a kids' corner. Gudeg (traditional Indonesian food), jamu (herbal drink), eggs, and an Indomie (noodle) corner were always available daily. Continued success, Hotel El Royale.
