The best feature of Borderers is Gail the lovely hostess. She goes above and beyond to help her guests feel special. A gem hard to find in this crazy world. The building is very old with great history set in the centre of Brecon. The best feature of our accommodation was the bathroom with a wonderful shower. However the room itself was a bit crowded and difficult to freely move around in. Would we stay again - Yes so long as Gail is there!

We have had a wonderful short break in Brecon staying at the Borderers. Our host Gail was wonderful. She was knowledgeable about the area, always helpful with our little queries. Nothing was too much trouble. We had everything we needed in our room and the breakfast was excellent, with plenty of it. The car park was a little tricky to manoeuvre in but with Gail’s help it was ok.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Borderers guesthouse, Gail & Kevin were amazing hosts, will definitely be returning!

A lovely reception by Gail, the owner, who made me feel welcome and very comfortable. She went out of her way to make my stay in Brecon worthwhile and I really enjoyed my time with her. I look forward to visiting again.

very old property which made it interesting but inevitably this comes with limitations. Older buildings have smaller rooms for example. Overall it was a very pleasant place to stay, convenient for the Hay festival. Enough shops to enable a pleasant time strolling through the town.

One of the best greetings ever from Gail she looked after myself and others in my group exceptionally.

Unfortunately had to cut our break short. Gayle was the hostess with the mostest.

Gail, our host, couldn’t have been more helpful. Her local knowledge was outstanding. Breakfast was a treat not to be missed. My wife and I had a wonderful four dat stay.

Gail was an outstanding host. Her local knowledge of Brecon and the whole region was amazing and she gave us some great suggestions of things to see in the area. Our room was large and had nice teas & coffee making facilities. Breakfast was the best. Would not hesitate to recommend the Borderers.

Although we only stayed for two nights, we absolutely loved our stay in Brecon in Borderers Guesthouse. Gail's hospitality is amazing; the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was delicious (including homemade marmalade and jam!) and Gail did everything she could to ensure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. She also gave really good recommendations for the area - we would love to visit again for a longer period of time to really explore the nature around Brecon. 10/10 would return :)

Great hosts

Gail is a wonderful host, very friendly and knowledgeable. Great breakfast! The location is perfect for getting into town, to the cathedral, the canal. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Pen y Fan is a short drive. I look forward to returning.

Excellent location and Gail, the innkeeper, goes out of her way to be helpful and is especially charming and personable.

Spent four nights here, had a great time. Gail went out of her way to be helpful. Room was comfortable if a little cramped but that didn't really bother us. Breakfasts were excellent. WiFi was fast and easily reached the room. Car park is small and the entrance to it is very tight indeed.

Building is a quirky conversion of a former pub with an arch to a central courtyard where limited parking is available. Gail is a welcoming hostess and went to a lot of trouble to ensure I was comfortable. Breakfast (included0 is lavish. The situation is on a main street only a couple of minutes from the picturesque canal basin.

5 night stay at the Borderers. Forgot to bring proper winter night gown and next day I had an extra heater in the room with a friendly note from Gayle (host). Every day I was left a homemade treat. Extremely attentive and thoughtful. Truly recommend.
