This pub has been a revelation! It is situated slightly off the main thoroughfare and has an unassuming appearance. My wife and I have been coming to Skipton for many years and we always call in somewhere for a drink and often something to eat. We came across this pub today and decided we'd check out; today's best decision! All of the staff who dealt with us were delightful and so accommodating. We decided to eat as the place seemed so friendly. I can honestly say that this is pub food at its very best. It was incredibly tasty, beautifully cooked and, if anything, too generous. We cannot recommend it enough. The only downside is that when we came to pay the bill, there was no facility to contribute a tip by card for the wonderful staff, and we didn't have any cash. If you decide to eat here, PLEASE take cash for a tip. We'll have to give a double tip next time; there will definitely be next times.

This place is outstanding rooms gorgeous warm clean perfect size for 2 people Bar good choice of beers ale and staff very friendly. I didn't do breakfast but my wife said it was excellent but the chef made me a bacon butty to go. Doesn't look much from outside but as they say don't judge a book by it cover Highly recommend and we will be back

Called in at 6pm, a party of 7, we hadn’t booked a table but were easily accommodated. Chose to eat in the busy bar rather than the dining room. Everyone enjoyed their food with meals from the standard menu and specials board. Pies are a definite highlight and the request for chips & beans rather than salad with the cheese pie was no problem. Will return.

My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I had a confirmed booking and arrived with my family, including two small children, expecting a smooth check-in process. Instead, we were refused check-in, leaving us stranded and stressed with young kids. What made the situation even worse was that no reasonable solution was offered and no refund was provided despite us being unable to stay. The manager, Neil, came across as rude, dismissive, unhelpful, uncompromising, and completely lacking in empathy for our situation. Rather than showing any concern for a family with small children, the interaction felt cold, indifferent, and entirely focused on money. I was left with the impression that customer care and basic human decency were far less important than maximizing revenue. The way we were treated made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the management's attitude appeared arrogant, stubborn, insensitive, and confrontational. This was one of the most unpleasant hospitality experiences my family has ever had. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel to families or to anyone who expects fair treatment, understanding, and customer-focused service.

Well, the burger portion was good, I definitely left with a full stomach. Buuut the actual burger meat was rather dry to the point it was hard to chew... And the vegetables were cut in a weird way so that it was hard to put them in your mouth and kept falling off the burger... They give you free mayo though, and the salad isn't disgusting. And the service was friendly even though I was being socially awkward. It's an OK place to eat in.
