This small hotel is a genius product developed by the couple who own Inkwell wines and live nearby. The rooms and hallways and cellar door are built out of shipping containers and a lot of effort went into making the accommodations truly 5 star. They are also strongly committed to being environmentaly conscious. The location is quiet and charming with amazing views. They are only 5 mins from the center of Mclaren Vale with plenty of restaurant options and stores. They are also only 10 mins away from Maslin beach , one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever visit. A terrific choice for visiting the nearby wine country 🎉🎉🎉

Place was ok checkin was a bit odd and dragged out Was for our wedding anniversary and noted that in booking but there was no mention of that at all while checking Was no milk in the fridge for teas or coffees Shower head leaking badly For the price a bit underwhelming

A wonderful place to stay. We came in early 2020 and haven't managed to return until late 2024. Little has changed: no wear and tear, but the same stunning view and a magnificently appointed bedroom and bathroom. Perfect for exploring the Southern Vales, or for a short get-away from Adelaide.

I was in the area for work and thought this place would be good. Unfortunately, my colleague had a bereavement and could not come. I realise a refund was impossible of course ... the stay was imminent - but did think that if there was a mutually convenient time - something might be possible... I have done this with illness and this was the passing of a son... but I also paid for the breakfast for both rooms ... and even that was charged and not consumed! and apparently on arrival ... was advised there have been a lot of unfortunate 'passings' of young people in SA of late..... maybe I am being to sensitive or harsh ... but cannot recommend or return

Most comfortable bed of all the hotels I've ever stayed in. Luxe rooms and interesting building. Personal and friendly service. Wine tasting after we checked-in. What more could you want! Location is a few minutes out of McLaren Vale, but uber and taxis are readily available.

Such a relaxing stay! We’ll definitely come back. Comfy bed and pillows, great view of the vine yards plus lovely bath with a view.

The room was fantastic down to the complimentary snacks and amenities. We just needed one night stay and it was possible where a lot of Airbnb require 2 to three minimum nights in McLaren Vale.

Simply amazing. Loved it. Outstanding views across the winery (with the autumn colors). Bath was great too. Super-comfy bed. And a selection of excellent wines. What more could you want? Just perfect.

The room was amazing with beautiful veiws and amenities. Breakfast could be improved but was sufficient.

A surprisingly luxurious oasis on a hill, overlooking rows and rows of vines. The room, and ensuite, were large, comfortable and well appointed.

It doesn't get much better than watching the sunset over vines while drinking a wine in the bathtub!

The wines at Inkwell are really enjoyable. The staff are down to earth, friendly, and helpful. They even have a wine dog named Daisy. The views from the room are breathtaking. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck. It's very quiet and peaceful. The amenities are high quality and comfortable. The only complaint I have, and it's very minor and probably specific to me is that the shower water pressure is really light. I have super thick hair and it was almost impossible to get my hair rinsed.

Unique stay in this beautiful accommodation . Rooms and styling are outstanding . Sunset over the vineyards is magical! Beds are incredibly comfortable and the bath is fantastic. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and there is nothing else like it anywhere near. Included breakfast not really in keeping with the high standard and low footprint ethics of the hotel. Less food but more local offerings with less packaging would be an improvement .

Friendly, simple check-in. A beautiful contemporary room with an even better outlook. Well appointed with wine, snacks, breakfast and coffee. A thoroughly relaxing stay in McLaren Vale and recommend highly.
