We had a perfect stay at Pirgos Mavromichali. The centuries old building holds so much charm and has been maintained with the highest quality, which you can notice from the minute you walk into the hotel. We experienced amazing service from all staff members, and cleanliness and privacy in our room. We booked the Sea Suite that had a private terrace with sunbeds, but there are enough sunbeds for all guests with the best view of Limeni. One added tip is to park right next to the Pirgos Mavromichali sign before the entrance of the hotel to unload your luggage before navigating the street for parking. It’s a tight and busy one-way street with cobblestone.

This was an amazing start to our holiday and our first time in Mani. The village of Limeni is picture postcard perfect with an azure sea. The hotel is an old converted castle with a lovely balcony area where they serve their great included a la carte breakfast in the morning and a nice chill out spot in the evening to watch the sun set. Below there is a sun terrace with allocated sunbeds and private stairs down to the sea. They also provide beach towels and some snorkelling gear. The room kept the luxury vibe with a great bed, nice toiletries and a mezzanine sofa area. But it was the view that really sold it. Straight out to that azure sea and quiet at night. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough. More general tips - you really need a car to get around Mani and there is ample parking just before the hotel. In the village we ate at Takis and we could actually see the caught fish being delivered from the boat to the restaurant. The food is delicious and if you are lucky you will see a turtle hovering around in the sea nearby. Areopoli is nearby and has some bars and restaurants and well worth visiting the Pirgou caves as well as doing a loop (we went to Gerolimenas and the ghost town of Vathia). We would definitely go back to Mani and stay at this hotel.

An idyll. A must. Pirgos Mavromichali is a beautiful, calm place to stay, and from which to explore the Deep Mani. But it’s very hard not to just stay all day and night in the hotel with its wonderful food and welcoming, warm staff.

There truly aren’t enough superlatives to do justice to how wonderful this hotel, it’s owner and it’s staff are. The beautiful and historically significant hotel is in the most heart stoppingly picturesque and unspoiled fishing village you could imagine. Nothing is too much trouble for Sakis and his attentive staff yet this is managed in the most unobtrusive way. Authentic and delicious local food is lovingly created in the hotel and paired with fantastic Greek wines and beers. The levels of cleanliness are second to none and the rooms elegantly chic in a simple way that befits the old stone hotel. We travelled here for my wife’s 40th birthday and it was made magical by Sakis and his excellent team. Quite simply an amazing place to stay in a breathtaking location!!!!!!!
