We stayed end of March, not too HOT weather. Though comfortable, ceiling fan was noisy. No A/C! Safe and quiet, and comfortable bed. Reasonable shower with hot water. Otherwise, this is a very basic accommodation. If you need any pleasantries at all, this is not your place.

The room was as basic but clean and felt safe. It was expected. Bedding and towels were provided but I was surprised to find a wash cloth was not. I like to cleanse my face in the evening. I also accidently locked my self out of my room the evening prior to my departure and was surprised to find they had no spare key. The staff did gain entry but had to move me to another room for my last night. In that room the sink leaked from underneath and there were visible cobwebs. I do not think they planned to have someone in the room but it was not ready for occupancy.

Water was always turn off in the AM. No warm water

My wife and I stayed here for a week. We really liked Anna, the manager, but otherwise our stay was terrible. Every night there was a strange man lying in the hammock for our cabana which was about 10 feet from the front door. He would never say hi and he would constantly smoke, which would go through the windows and into our cabana. My wife is allergic to cigarette smoke so this was very frustrating. It would have been nice to actually use the hammock that was there for us. Also, if you want a good night rest DO NOT stay here! It was so loud. There was a dog that belonged to one of the staff members, and it would bark all night long. Not only that, there was a rooster chicken that would crow all night long. We got very little sleep the entire time we were here. There are also a lot of bugs in the cabana-mosquitoes, gnats, and cockroaches. The bugs didn’t bother us near as much as the creepy man out front and the extremely loud noises at night.

Staff not trained not polite. All surrounded areas dirt and smell really bad. Beach very dirt, rather than clean water mud. Rooms very bad conditions

I have been traveling to Mahahual for solo fishing adventures every year for at least the last 8 years, and I have always stayed at the Cabanas Del Doctor, and I always will! I don't need anything fancy, but for the very reasonable price of a room or cabana here you won't find anything even close to as good. Also, the woman who runs the hotel/cabanas is wonderful, I look forward to seeing her every year. Hope to be back again soon, thank you for everything once again!

Adequate room, very sparse. Had to ask the owner/manager how to open the front window as it had a huge & dangerous crack down it. We wanted the sea breeze to flow through the window front window, especially as it had mosquito netting. Amazing view of the sea from front window. Good air conditioning. Quiet at night. Owner/manager came across as annoyed and irritated by our arrival, thankfully this changed during our stay. Mahahual was very busy but it was the Easter holiday. The beaches are covered in rubbish, plastic everywhere including in the sea. Everyday we watched people clear away the masses of seaweed on the beach, presumably as it's unsightly for the tourists, these same people simply ignored the rubbish/plastic. Lots of loud music blairing from cars & bars so beware where you stay.

Simple Hotel.

No tvs , bed was hard.

Other than the bed being a bit firm, my stay was quite comfortable. The room was clean. the AC was cold. And the shower was hot. The hotel has a beachfront area with a pier directly across the street which is a continuation of the malecon. There are numerous restaurants and beach clubs a fairly short walk away.

Beautiful property facing the beach. We loved it!

The location is excellent. The property is kept clean and secure. It's a budget beach hotel so it does attract people of all ages. Some stay up and party while others stay in and sleep. I was woken up a couple of nights by loud drunk talk but it wasn't a deal breaker.

So....there are multiple types of dwellings. The cabanas have no AC and look sparse inside. We "upgraded" to a room with AC. Very sparse...one towel each, one trash can, a "ketchup packet" of shampoo and a 5cm cube of soap. We booked the cabana on this app for $40/night...didn't catch the lack of AC...the AC room was $50/night. When we upgraded they charged $15 extra per night...seemed expensive at $65/night. Also the beach at front was pretty dirty. Snorkel by the light house...it's a lot better.

Great access to the water with excellent swimming and steps off the dock into the water. Very clean unit and friendly staff. My only suggestion would be to add a small refrigerator to the unit. Great value overall and will always return to Las cabanas Del Doktor

Una de las dos camas no tenía sabana, les escribimos (ya no había nadie en recepción). Nos dijeron que la llevarían, nos dieron las 11 pm y no llegaban. Volvimos a escribir y nos dejaron en visto, mala noche -fue la única que nos quedamos al otro día debíamos salir a las 7 am y el descanso que buscamos en este lugar, no se dio-.
