great, friendly service

Rooms were great, big, clean and well equipped, the bar and restaurant downstairs were lovely and the food amazing. But what made it was the service from a young chap behind the bar Matt or Mark (forgive me can’t remember), went above and beyond!!

Absolutely amazing. Staff are fantastic. I try and stay once a month if i can, while working in the area.

The Tickled Trout & all the staff provide an amazing place to stay, enjoy & dine. I often stay here for work & always feel warm & welcomed. The food is great as is the service. Rooms are a great size, really comfortable with luxurious extras. Warm in the winter which is always welcomed. Theres also plenty of parking. Theres nothing I don't like about this place & highly recommend it to everyone - don't stay in a charmless chain hotel, stay at the Tuckled Trout for a memorable stay.

Welcoming

Bed extremely comfortable. Nice touches in room - biscuits, bottled water, sweets. Breakfast very generous & tasty. Lovely evening meal: staff attentive & friendly. Fabulous stay.

Manager very polite and show to the room and gave a run down. Food was very good and a fair price for the quality. Room comfortable and spacious. Only downside was not starting until 8am for breakfast which is not ideal for business travellers

Lovely place. Menu was a bit weird for a northern boy but I survived!

Just a really lovely place to stay with great food and accommodation & staff plus dog walking very close by!

As always; the staff, room & food were fab. This is my first choice of accommodation when I need to stay in the area. All the staff are helpful & friendly. The room is super comfortable. The fan privided were great at keeping the heat at bay

Really lovely country pub with 6 rooms upstairs. Large rooms with a huge shower - lovely big soft towels Bed was comfortable. Room was warm but there was a fan provided

My wife and I have been driving around the UK for 2 weeks and found The Tickled Trout to be the best we’ve had. Spotless, The Bed was soo comfortable, Great shower, and the Roast in the restaurant was amazing. We were greeted at check in by Charlie and his female off sider, who both came out to the car park and helped with the baggage. We were taken to our room and shown about. When we went down to the restaurant for dinner, Charlie and the female staff member ( sorry don’t know her name) were there to greet us, and serve our delicious meals and drinks. The friendly atmosphere of the pub is what I will always remember. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Great stay and lovely location.

Eye convenient. One member of staff was just lovely she couldn’t have done more to help so friendly. Another was really unfriendly and very moody. I felt as though I was a pain for being there. Breakfast was ok, poached eggs hard and tasted of vinegar.

Nice gastropub with decent sized, well decorated rooms above. However bathroom sliding door was dangerous. Once closed couldn't be opened by one person as sticking on carpet. Had to leave it open during one night stay. Evening meal food was good and well presented. Evening staff were polite but had to be reminded about items ordered. Staff at checkout were disbelieving about problems with bathroom door, and offered no apology or compensation. Have stayed before. Unlikely to return.
