This place is incredible! We were a little worried when our driver initially dropped us off with our bags at the bottom of the steep road and said the road was too tight for the minivan to get through. We walked a little further than we should have, but we found the hotel and as we were escorted to our room our mouths dropped. The room is incredible! We were 3 people, but this place was clearly meant for 6. Two king beds on either side of a little staircase that took you up to 2 single beds (loft style). This place would be perfect for friends or a family with kids. We almost wanted to cancel the rest of our trip and stay longer. The room itself has a seating area, a kitchenette, a small fridge. The bathroom is provided with shower gel and shampoo (these are luxuries that are not provided in all hotels in Sri Lanka). The set up feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel room. The location is wonderfully located next to all the restaurants and the shopping. We took a walk in the evening and had dinner at Chill Cafe (which was recommended to us twice by locals in different cities). Definitely can't wait to go back to Poomaz Peace Palace.

Amazing, family-run place. We had a beautiful view of the mountain and they made us a delicious breakfast every morning. The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. There is a very steep hill which can be hard if you are bringing yo your own luggage but worth it for the views.

We stayed at the Poomaz Peace palace for 3 nights. The accommodation is within minutes of the main street and because of the close proximity you can hear the live music each night. However the music usually does stop by 23:00. The room was spacious and clean and offers a fridge, kettle, hair dryer, soap, towels and has a shared balcony where breakfast is served each morning. The wifi connection was good and Poorna the owner was very responsive and available via whats app for any requests or problems. ( We made a request for a spare blanket and a take away breakfast on our last morning. Both requests were facilitated efficiently) Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Poomaz peace palace. The only niggle I had about the room was the placements of the plug sockets meant that you aren't able to charge your phone from the bedside. I would recommend Poomaz peace palace to anyone who wants to be close to Ella centre.

Very welcoming host who was helpful throughout our stay. Hot shower. Delicious breakfast for $5 each, with an array of items. Excellent value for money.

Great hospitality from the staff, easy access to Main Street and bus station. Clean room and bathroom with nice breakfast on your balcony.

Great central affordable option. Only recommendation is to put blinds on the glass doors as the sun in the morning and patio light at night make it challenging to sleep.

Very friendly staff and wonderful property. They are located close to the main area of restaurants and a quick drive to things like Little Adam’s Peak. The place itself is very nice and well maintained. Breakfast is tasty- what seems like the standard Sri Lankan breakfast, but well done.

Lovely place, ideal for a family of 4 for a few days. Great location in town and near to the main sights.

The view is amazing. Also the staff is very friendly, helpful and treat you with high hospitality standards.

We spent two nights here and we were comfortable even though the room was basic. Breakfast on the balcony was lovely. There’s a steep climb back home after going down to the main street, so you will give your calves a good stretch, but it’s worth it for the view of Little Adam’s Peak that you get in the morning. Overall a very good choice of accommodation in a small, quiet guesthouse.

This is the PERFECT place. The host is amazing. The location is great, walking distance (1 block) to the main area of town but far enough away to be out of the noise and bustle. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast is amazing, served on a private terrace. Highly recommend.

Very near shopping and eating area

Wonderful place! Walking distance to the restaurants and main street ... poomaz is sooo nice you ask for anything and u will have it in front of ur door in one minute! The breakfast is delicious, room spacious and so clean! You will feel at home. We even wanted to have some laundry but it was too late in the evening and the second day we were leaving he suggested to do our clothes in his private washing machine! I highly recommend the place

We had reserved at Poomaz but lost it at the last minute. Poorna helped us find another place for the night. On the second night we stayed at Poomaz. The room was clean and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect away from the city. The only downside was some barking dogs in the middle of the night but the owners made them stop. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

Amazing spot to stay in Ella. The view from the balcony is beautiful. Owner was extremely friendly and gave suggestions on things to do nearby. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the town. Rooms are clean and spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for a wonderful stay, Poorna. A great location in Ella, 1-2 minutes walk (down a steep hill) to the main street and perfectly located for hiking to Ella Rock/Nine Arch Bridge/Little Adam’s Peak. Clean, tidy rooms, large fridge, no air con but this wasn’t needed in Ella. Poorna arranged local trips for us via tuk tuk, very cheap laundry facilities, gave us advice about the area and the best routes to take for our hikes. He made contact via WhatsApp before our arrival and had our room ready for us early (no extra charge). He was responsive to messages quickly with helpful responses to our questions about our stay and the area. Breakfast was varied and delicious, made by him and his wife, served on our balcony. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ella - from experience it was much better to stay just a few minutes off the Main Street, much quieter and beautiful views toward Ella Rock from the room.

Amazing stay during our honeymoon trip. The host was super attentive to our requests and even surprised us with a cake to celebrate the occasion! Wonderful stay overall, great location - absolutely recommend! We stayed at 5 star resorts through our trip and this little gem in Ella was still one of our favorites!
