The Hotel was not busy , yet it was always difficult getting served. The hotel hosted a Private function on our second night that took up the entire wharf area. We were able to sit in the area. There wasn’t any restaurant service that evening. We had to leave the hotel for diner. The music was very loud and continued well past 2am. The hotel did leave a notice in our room the morning of apologizing in advance for the anticipated loud music.This event was not a last minute event. We should have been notified prior to our stay allowing us to make changes .

The service in all areas were very slow & inconsiderate. Place was lovely, clean and safe. A lot of staff doing very little and chatting instead of serving drinks & food when needed. Very expensive for service you could not get.

Didn't dtay at the Suffern they Upgraded us to the sister hotel club room suite Laboudonnais which was fantastic

Room service never delivered and no response from management when this was brought to their attention that evening. No elevators, but staff willing to carry bags. Nor.ally it is probably quiet, but late music on lunar new year

My husband entered the bathroom of our room and he handle fell off , trapping him in the bathroom I had to call twice before someone came .This was fixed by 5:25.At7 on our way to dinner I stopped by the desk to express surprise that no one had checked on us, said they were sorry, and was told they meant too but were very busy we were given a transfer to the ship( which was not better than waiting for the free bus, and I drink which I declined. The individual servers were nice but napkins were hard to find, coffee at breakfast a rare commodity. Yes they were extremely busy with cruise ships debarking and embarking , but this wasn't a surprise. Close to the port and harborside center but if I am sure here are other hotels

It took more than 40 m to check out. Too many guests crowned in the lobby for checking out.

Our apartment were cleaned every day the two ladies Jamie and (so sorry ) can't remember her name The chefs Jonathan Charles came over personally to address and issue we had and his assitance were a hand to solve the issue we had thank you to the amazing food and breakfast ,and all the the waiters were very helpful and we couldn't have asked for anything else, spa were amazing most day were felted very relax specially to eloon for helping with an issues Specially Dickens Allover it was a lovely relaxing holiday

Location and room was good. Breakfast was the same all days. I think they can improve on it.

Good location. The half board was good but make sure you know the rules before ordering your dinner.

The hotel was pleasant, clean and staff was friendly. The hotel was walking distance to the shopping. The breakfast was delicious.

Great service in a very practical location: Walking distance to the restaurants on the waterfront. Walking distance to downtown port-Louis. Easy access to the mortorway leading to the main parts of the island

The hotel is fairly nice, but makes attempts at luxury at the sacrifice of quality service. For example, it is extremely difficult to get prompt service at almost all meals because staff are often dismissive and absent, but they'll correct you on the proper use of a butter knife. The food is fairly good. The outdoor bar service is prompt. I stayed for a week and my room was only cleaned once - the same wad of hair and pieces of small plastic were never vacuumed from the carpet. Last, on the final Friday of my stay, the bar BLASTED music until past 23:00. Even with earplugs the bass reverberated around my room, disrupting my sleep. There were no posts or clear communication warning that this was to occur that evening. I'm sure the hotel will respond to this review with a "we are deeply sorry and will fix this" message, however, looking back on the years of similar, negative reviews, the service ill probably continue as I experienced it.

Greeted by a completely disinterested receptionist. Shown to room along a brightly lit but rather damp smelling ground floor corridor. Room ok, no view, overlooking the hotel car park but looks freshly refurb'd. Bathroom definitely needing attention with shower cubicle noticeably mouldy, a sink plug that doesn't work, a toilet handle broken, light bulb out. The advertised water taxi for whatever reason wasn't on so either a walk, or a bumpy ride by road to the adjacent marina shops. These are small points but at the price point charged they are important. Aside from breakfast we had some rather bland bar snacks in a very (very) loud hotel bar with DJ. Found a much better local place to eat in town the following night. Sent a letter the night before to 'remind' us to check out no later than midday! Check out process chaotic with a cruise departure being delayed. The booked taxi by reception never turned up and despite paying at time of booking, have today received an email asking for payment. Unfortunately on this occassion, a below average stay.

Didn’t like the extremely noisy parties they have every weekend . Didn’t like that the air condition was erratic. Didn’t like that they advertise shuttle boat service that they never offered. Didn’t like that the mobile devices didn’t charge properly . Didn’t like the limited ala carte menue they offered. They room rates are exorbitant but they pale beside their sister hotel which is not much more rate wise.

We were only there 1 night. A cyclone had come through the area a few days before we arrived and had done considerable damage . Inspite of that our stay was excellant....staff great....food great.....breakfast buffet wonderful. Would recommed.
