We were very happy with our stay at Casona 1914. It's a lovely hotel with Great staff and very spacious and comfortable rooms--and very clean! We were recovering from our arduous trip, and one day we just stayed in the room almost all day, and it felt pleasant. The coffee at breakfast was really good, and there were several choices on the breakfast menu. When it came time to leave they gave us a late checkout which really helped with our schedule for the day. We were able to walk down to the Plaza Grande, and there were restaurants close by.

I arrived on Sept 14 night, and the owner was very friendly. She was already waiting for my arrival. As my flight leaving for Santiago, Chile is after midnight, I was a bit nervous to ask the owner whether I could leave my luggage after check-out, she was very generous to allow me to stay late till I leave for the airport at 21:00 tonight. That really impressed me. I would like to recommend this long-history hotel to any travellers who want to explore Quito. Excellent service, comfortable room, fantastic breakfast, and reasonable price. Also the big dog staying in the backyard is called “Moto”. I hope I would come back again soon..

Beautiful old mansion house converted to a lovely hotel. It was very quiet when we were there with just 1 or 2 other guests, but they looked after us well. Rooms newly redecorated (we loved the Galápagos room with undersea mural and in room clawfoot bath. Walkable to old town (15 minutes) and basilica (5 minutes) but not at night. On edge of nice small park Almeda. Breakfast fabulous with local hot dish choices as well as continental. Dinner was good with good choices presented nicely although one was not too well cooked. Empanadas amazing!

Beautiful colonial home that has been converted into a hotel. Most of the rooms are, generally, upscale and inclusive, but the dormitory-style rooms at the top are an excellent low-cost option! You receive fewer amenities and you share bathroom and shower facilities, but this is a familiar scenario to eco-travelers. These rooms are a step up from a hostel, but they are priced similarly and you receive all the additional hotel perks! For the price, these rooms are an excellent value. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Centro Histórico and there are many attractions within walking distance. The neighborhood seems relatively safe, but the hotel maintains a tightly secured entrance and has staff on hand 24 hours a day in case you need assistance. There is almost no nightlife to speak of in this area, but there are MANY initmate, inexpensive restaurants close by. While I would recommend brushing up on your Spanish for getting around Quito, the hotel staff is fluent in English and is more than willing to help you out. I would absolutely LOVE to stay at this hotel again in the future.

Pros: clean, staff services, breakfast, safe Cons: room very small, VIP perks (free bottle of wine, two hours extended checkout) was not mentioned, I had to bring it up, shower had not door so water splashed outside.

We stayed at this hotel for one week and had an excellent experience. Hotel is cozy, quiet, very clean and all the staff just amazing, kind hearted, always supporting and making you feel like home. No words can express this experience, I highly recommend to anyone. Exceeds by far any 5* hotel just because of people there. I take this opportunity to all the staff we met at Casona 1914.

This is such a great find. We are a party of six and cannot say enough about this amazing place. The rooms are clean and charming. There is a gorgeous rooftop patio to enjoy beautiful views from. The breakfast was the best we have ever had at a hotel. Domino was waiting for us during a late check in and answered all our questions. Simple’s the best place to be in Quito

Quaint and lovely hotel just blocks from the exquisite Basilica! The staff are amazing…very polite and accommodating. I arrived late at night and the hotel manager greeted me at the door and personally carried my very heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs. The hotel arranged for a taxi to and from the airport, and the driver, Jean Pierre, was a delight. Definitely recommend the Hotel Casona 1914!
