Really enjoyed the stay. We were in one of the new beach houses in the bay. Once there I finally realised the difference between cocoon and crystal (I think :-) Crystal is the last of the 18 houses and has one of the walls fully in glass as opposed to Cocoon that have standard walls. These new houses are simply beatiful - a perfect "love nest" - everything is nice even if we have to change room as the flush of our toilet wasn't working properly (really seamless swap - however I found the houses facing West - EVEN numbers - are better than the ones facing East, simply cause it's nice to chill on the patio and face the sunset. Breakfast has so many options and so has dinner (incl fresh grilled seafood). We didn't have a chance to test all the facilities but there is a tennis court and padel court, nice gym and a SPA. Pools are really nice and the beach beds are nicely spaced and plenty of shade to chill or sun to catch your tan. Overall a magic stay and would definitely get back

I’m still a little shocked at the room we were provided given the $300USD per night cost. It was in shambles. So out of date. Spiders and ants in the restroom. Crumbling walls. We decided to tough it out since we were there for one night and mainly to use the beach (which was very nice). But we have a 11 month old baby and when we got back from dinner there was a giant water bug or cockroach running around the bathroom. I couldn’t have my baby sleeping in a crib with so many bugs around. I was shocked they gave us this room, knowing we had an infant and putting us all the way at the end, where the sounds from the nightly hotel entertainment were audible. When I showed reception a video of the bug, they gave us a new room right away. This room was much nicer and perhaps more in line with the cost but I think the room is probably even more expensive than the $322 we paid. The dinner buffet was lovely. The beach is huge and clean. The pool is outdated, mocktail was watered down. I would not recommend this hotel for the price tag but not sure what the other option around Saly would be.

300 euro was stolen from my room. This was not an opportunistic theft. The money was locked in my bag with a lock. So it took effort. I reported the theft and the procedure was explained but the outcome is nothing. 300 euro goes a very long way in Senegal so vacation budget gone to theft. On top of that the rooms are dilapidated. I have been stressed due to the theft my entire trip. All my items have been on constant lock yet they managed to steal.

Beautiful beachfront property with lovely rooms. Breakfast was terrific, and staff are friendly and multi-lingual. Highly recommend. The downside is that it's a long haul from the airport through marginally safe streets. Make sure you have a good car and driver. Taxi service is pretty sketchy. The hotel would do well to have an airport shuttle.

The location and property is okay. The service was slow at check in. It is outrageous that the hotel would even charge water in the restaurant. All surrounding hotels offer free drinks, including at the restaurant and bar.

the hotel as such is very nice perfect, but as a foreigner (not speaking French) it is difficult to communicate. Check in took long, and we had a sick child. We were misinformed, which resulted in additional cost, then it took us quite some time to correct it, the transfer requested was not there/ nor where the cost correctly shared which all gave lot of problems and stress at check out.

First the good points: The beach is nice and the airconditioning works. On an international basis this hotel would barely get 4 stars. It wasn’t particularly clean. One look behind the mattress ( which I always do to be sure there are no bed bugs) revealed loads of hair, dead insects and blossoms which the Hotel use as their decoration for the bed. In the closet wears trash from the previous guests which convinced me that no one cleaned the room properly after the last visitor. There was no “please don’t disturb” sign available and staff came a lot to ask for several things ( in a country that has high risk for malaria you want to keep the doors closed, the most ridiculous visit was from a guy, at night who wanted to spray my room with pest control spray. First of all, this visit did the opposite, let mosquitoes in, and what was he thinking? Spraying the room while I’m in there???) not even telling the staff from the front desk, to please not do my room helped. Topic “hygiene”: I only ate and drank in the hotel. No salad, no fruit no ice cubes, still I ended up with having the runs with fever…

The check in experience was absolutely awful. First, no one acknowledged us for about fifteen minutes. Finally, the porter was so embarrassed that he called one of the reception staff over to help us. We arrived at 2pm and they said none of the rooms are ready until 3pm. I understand it takes time to clean the rooms but to have a standing policy at a supposedly high end hotel that no room will be available even if they are available is absurd. The French brunette at reception was exceptionally rude. There was no parking anywhere at the hotel and she stated that we could just find somewhere down the road and then move our car after all the day guests left. We have stayed at other hotels in the area like Royaum and Africa Queen and honestly the room was no better at Lamantin but they want to charge three times the price. The beach is very nice and clean but the hotel was an extremely disappointing experience. The entire reception staff should either be trained on customer service or replaced. I saw the French blonde manager walking around so she is clearly present but does not seem to be doing much to improve the standards of the hotel.

I reserved 3 rooms for a 3 ok check in. We got there at 4 pm and 2 out of the 3 rooms were dirty from the last guests when we walked in our rooms. They didn’t get us clean rooms till 7pm. Completely ruined our day. No one on their team is on the same page when it comes to communication. Half the team will tell you the pool closes at 7pm while the other half will tell you you can swim at anytime at your own risk. I was simply baffled by the lack of simple customer service etiquette and mediocre hospitality.

Extremely haphazard check in and check out. Service is good for food at restaurant but otherwise very slow. Staff is always distracted and doesn’t seem to know how to use technology well. Pool is clean but cold snd nobody comes to offer drinks or towels. Check out is very poor as well. Staff needs training, coffee and more people and probably better management.
