The hotel is near many restaurants and also near the Elbphilharmonie. The beds are comfortable and the staff is accommodating.

This hotel does not have air conditioning or at least a fan. I realize it was unusually warm in Hamburg, but this room would likely be warm on a normal day. There is little air movement into the room.

Stayed here for three nights with my wife, one daughter and a grandson - and were not disappointed. By accident and not planned, the location was excellent for us. There is a straight-through S-bahn train from the Airport to very near the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet street and had quite a number of restaurants, particularly Portuguese and Italian, very near it. Part of our purpose was to take the youngster to see Miniatur Wunderland, which is the most amazing scale model that you are ever likely to see in your life, but we were also able to take a two-hour Harbour Tour so that the young man, and the rest of us, could admire the enormous container ships that arrive. Truly impressive - if worrying that Europe needs to import such vast quantities of goods. Our hotel was within walking distance of the Wonderland and also of the new Elbephilharomie, which is the exceptional new concert hall that has recently been completed in the docks area. Even if you have no intention of going to a concert, you should go up on the unusually long escalator to the Foyer area and Auditorium entrance because, on this level, you can walk all the way around the perimeter of the building and enjoy the amazing views. As for the hotel, the beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean and properly equipped. Our rooms were at the back looking down onto an enclosed garden area with one or two mature trees and some grass that needed a bit of a trim! The breakfasts were excellent, true German style,

I liked the check in counter. Didn’t like no elevator for the entry stairs and no one to help with our bags.

My room was attractive and quite comfortable. The location is great. For the most part the desk staff was friendly and helpful, but there were times that the person at the desk was not very helpful. The wifi was terrible. Nobody at the desk could help. At one point the desk clerk reset the router but my internet would not work and she was not at all interested in helping. I talked to another guest in the lobby who experienced the same problem with wifi.

The hotel rooms are small but clean and functional. They are however not very soundproof as you hear everything going on in the room next door. Breakfast is good and staff friendly. The hotel is well situated for restaurants and getting public transportation

We are happy with our stay at Hotel Stella Maris. The breakfast buffet is excellent, as the food is all fresh and delicious! The location is convenient as it is close to the train station and the pier. Good value for money!

Pleasant boutique small hotel, in area of restaurants and near seaport. Only complaint is no A/C or even a room fan in hot summer in a room facing the afternoon sun. (not an unusual problem in Northern Germany small hotels - in summer.)

I failed to look at the fine print and thus was locked out of the hotel when my flight was delayed. They closed the front desk at 10:30pm and so I wandered the street a while. It paid dividends though as I managed to meet some great people and procure a nice place to lay my head.

The hotel is very good and I would stay again. It's well located for the city and well located for Spanish. Portuguese and Brazilian cuisine. Nice rooms. Good storage. Good bathrooms. Good breakfast. The hotel closes at 23:00, which wasn't highlighted to me by hotels.com nor the hotel themselves. My late flight meant I arrived at 23:30 and was left standing on the door step. I called the hotel number - no answer. I then cautiously called the hotel emergency number advertised on the hotel window, which was in fact the correct number. They gave me a code for a key dispensing machine and I got in. Not a good start, Hotel Stella Maris. I'm also not sure how hotels get away with not providing 24 hr security. What happens in the event of fire in the middle of the night?

Me and my boyfriend have just came back from a weekend away for his birthday. Had a lovely stay at this hotel and cannot fault it at all. We forgot plugs and asked the lad at reception for some and he was more than helpful and got them for us. We also asked for an iron and he gave us this too. Any questions we had he was very helpful to answer and let us check in at 2pm as the room was ready before 3pm. Reeperbahn and St. Pauli are within walking distance and the train station is close by to get to and from airport! Would definitely stay here again.

Good Location, in Portugese area, lots of restaurants and bars, but we heard no noise at night. Rooms are small, but as a central place to base yourself the area is good. Can walk everywhere, 20 mins to shops, 10 mins to Reeperbahn, 10 to Minature Wonderland, Harbour in front of hotel. Breakfast was great, worth the €13.
