A great experience. Excellent location but rooms are very small. Breakfast and staff were superb.

The hotel is in an excellent location, at the heart of Ribeira (waterfront). The views from my room were spectacular looking at Monastery, Bridge and the other side of Duoro River, the lively Gaia. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable and made my stay more enjoyable.

Location of the property was amazing and staff was 5 Star. So friendly and took care of every need and breakfast was fantastic!

This was a wonderful stay. Tight rooms as normal for the area but well appointed and nice bathroom. Location was extraordinary, right in the heart of Porto and next to the water. Excellent breakfast and staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would recommend highly.

We have stayed at Boutique Hotels in the past, but the Guest House Douro is in a league of its own. Amazing staff that went the extra mile for all our needs, an incredible breakfast and location in the heart of all the attractions and dining options. This little gem was a wonderful surprise! We absolutely loved the staff at this hotel! Luis and Philipe were amazing! Before our check-in, I contacted the hotel via email, and I received a complete, helpful response from Philipe. When we arrived at the hotel, our room was not quite ready. Luis made us coffee (with frothy milk--not plain coffee), and we sat and chatted with him in the lobby. He made several restaurant recommendations for us while we waited. We tried two of these during our stay, and they did not disappoint. The room was a typical European room, small, but it was clean and the bed was very comfy. The real star was the view from the room--we were lucky enough to have Luis upgrade us to a riverfront room for our stay, and the view was spectacular. Each morning we were served an amazing breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee, pastry, bread and cheeses/meats. One morning we asked Luis if he could arrange a blanket and corkscrew for a picnic later in the day, and when we returned to the hotel before heading to the picnic, Philipe had everything ready for us. These two were a great team. The hotel location is right along the river where there are plenty of restaurants and bars. I would stay here again in a heartbeat thanks to Luis and Philipe. In fact, we have shared our breakfast photos (so beautifully presented) with friends and provided them with the name of the hotel. Our stay was absolutely perfect.

Great location. All the staff were exceptional...great personalized service. They were so friendly and helpful it made our trip to Porto a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing place! Highly recommended

Loved our stay. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious every day. We did have a problem with the ac for most of our 5 night stay and one day had no hot water but it was fixed as quick as possible and the staff were very apologetic. It’s an old building so things happen. Area surrounding was full of great restaurants and so convenient to villa nova d Gaia and all else on the river. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Be aware the rooms overlooking the river are tiny and I mean tiny ! We could barely fit our luggage (room 202) But the view was wonderful so we made do. We would stay again but might try a slightly bigger room. Loved everything about Porto.

Staff was fantastic from check-in to check-out. Very friendly and helpful. Hotel is kept very clean. If you have a mobility problem this could be an issue since Porto is a city of hills. Closest transportation is a little walk but not far at all. Overall great experience.

This small boutique offers a superior location with beautiful river views from several rooms. Its decor is a dated - rugs, towels, etc. are worn. But the location is unbeatable, with a generous gourmet breakfast and an amazing staff.

This was the cutest hotel by the river. Great views. The staff were excellent. Especially Luis and Luisa. Top notch service. The breakfast was great. It was a great start to the day as we explored Porto Thank you so very much for a great experience.

The location is the best in town, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and breakfast is excellent. The only drawback is that the rooms are small -yet efficiently organized for their size.

Room was great, small by Canadian standards but met our needs. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing. We were to board a ship close by and weren’t sure a cab would work out for several reasons. I was told if it didn’t they would walk the luggage down to ship for us! Couldn’t ask for more
